Managing Multi-Service Groups

Check availability and hold rooms for multiple services

Written by Rachel Baque

Who this is for

Any Mews-integrated customer that has broken down their “Bookable Services” by business segment but tied them to the same underlying rooms. You would do this so you can manage different rates and restrictions by business segment, but work with the same underlying set of rooms/inventory.

Example:

  • Service: Hotel

    • Room Types: Standard Rooms, Queens, Villas

    • Rates: BAR, Flexible, No Cancelation

  • Service: Student

    • Room Types: Standard Rooms, Queens, Villas

    • Rates: Student Rate

The number of rooms at the property has not doubled, there are just now 2 routes you can take for booking them: “Hotel” service or “Student” service. The service you choose determines the rates and restrictions

In this example, you would book all of your students through the “Student” service, and all of your other business through the “Hotel” service.

How it works

All Mews integrations Admin users have the ability to have multiple Accommodation Services configured.

  1. Click Settings

  2. Click Integrations -> PMS

  3. Click Edit

  4. Under Guest Room Control, select the required Accommodation Services

  5. Click Save

When multiple services are enabled, the app changes in a few ways:

  1. Room Type Sync

    1. The room type sync will now download room types for each selected service

    2. It still runs nightly but can also be run manually from settings

  2. Rate Sync

    1. The rate sync will now download rates for each selected service

    2. It still runs nightly but can also be run manually from settings

  3. Availability

    1. You now need to select the service to fetch live availability for

  4. Groups

    1. You now need to select the service the group block will be for

    2. When adding room types to the group, it will only allow room types for that service

  5. Reservations

    1. No need to select the service the reservations will be created for

    2. If a group already exists, the reservations will be made against the group’s service
