Sharing Assets in Sesimi: A Complete Guide

Sesimi gives you control over who sees what Assets and what they can do with them.

In Sesimi, assets are private by default, meaning only the creator has access. Whether you upload a file or create one from a template, the asset belongs solely to you. If you wish to share your asset, you can control how others interact with it by setting specific access levels.

How to Share an Asset

  1. Locate the Asset: Find the asset in your library, and click on its Access tab.

  2. Select Users or Teams: Choose users or teams you'd like to share the asset with, and assign the appropriate access level.

  3. Sharing via Email: You can also share assets with users outside of your Sesimi account. Just enter the recipient’s email address, and they’ll receive instructions on how to access the asset.

Access Levels Explained

Sesimi offers various access levels to protect your assets and limit actions like re-sharing or deleting. Here's what each access level allows:

  1. Full Access

    • Capabilities: Users can share, edit, delete, and download the asset.

    • Best For: Those who need complete control over the asset.

  2. Edit Access

    • Capabilities: Users can edit metadata but cannot delete or share the asset.

    • Best For: Users who need to make minor adjustments without full permissions.
      ​

  3. Export Access

    • Capabilities: Users can download assets in different formats or qualities.

    • Best For: Exporting content for use but without editing rights.
      ​

  4. View-Only Access

    • Capabilities: Users can only view the asset, with no permissions to share, download, or edit.

    • Best For: External stakeholders or team members who only need visibility.

Sharing Outside of Sesimi

If you need to share assets with someone not on your Sesimi account, simply enter their email address in the sharing settings. The recipient will receive an email with instructions on how to access the asset.

Best Practices for Asset Sharing

  • Use Appropriate Access Levels: Only give Full Access to those who need it, and use View-Only for stakeholders who don’t need interaction.

  • Regularly Review Permissions: Periodically check shared assets to ensure access levels are correct.

  • Communicate Clearly: Inform users of the access level they have and what actions they’re permitted to take.
