Thanks for your interest in the ShareGrid Rental Shipping Pilot, launching nationwide in Fall 2025 with a limited group of trusted owners.
This pilot allows you to rent your gear to users nationwide by shipping it directly with ShareGrid support, protections, and policies in place.
To participate, you must agree to the following program requirements:
Eligibility & Listings
All shippable listings must have Instant Book enabled. You can choose which of your local rental listings have instant book enabled per listing. You can also optionally prevent instant book listings for weekends and holidays.
With instant book on, shipping renters can only book items at least 4 days in advance. This ensures that you will always have until the end of the next day’s shipping window (up to 3pm local time) to send out the package and still have it arrive within 2-3 days via air shipping.
You must add at least 10 shippable listings available by October 2025 to be included in the rental shipping marketing push to feature your listings nationwide.
Maximum Replacement Value per package/listing: $5,000
Minimum rental: 4 days (excluding transit). Total duration may extend to ~10 days.
How to add Shippable Listings & Packages
In the listing manager edit or create a listing, then enable the rental shipping switch.
You may set a different daily rate for shipped rentals. Price your daily rate considering that no multi-day or weekend discounts will apply to shipped rentals, unlike local rentals. Make sure you prices are competitive with other online shipping rental outlets.
To create shipping packages, add shipping-enabled listings to a package and enable a package-specific shipping rate, which overrides the individual listing shipping rates.
You offer either free round-trip shipping or choose between two flat-rate tiers:
Express (2–3 business days) for rentals starting within 4 business days
Ground (3-5 business days) for rentals starting > 4 business days
Actual label costs (discounted at 20-30% from retail rates) are deducted from your payout.
Shipping & Handling
Orders placed before 3 PM (Mon–Fri) should ship the same day.
Gear must be packed using strict packaging standards:
Hard shell cases
Foam inserts & padding
Sealed boxes suitable for return use
Include return label and printed checklist (pdf available at time of shipping)
Late returns = charged daily rate for each late day
Renter Requirements
Renters must have at least $5,000 in Damage + Theft Waiver coverage
ID verification is required
Shipments can only go to the renter’s confirmed credit card billing address
Signature required upon delivery both ways
Owner Responsibilities
You must:
Photograph and document your gear before shipping and upon return
Report any issues within the same day as delivery
You agree that shipping delays may cause delays in the return of your gear. You will be responsible for refunding the renter (if requested) if there is a shipping delay and they miss their shoot days.
