  1. These event terms and conditions (the Terms) govern your purchase of tickets for, and attendance at events held by Sharesies Australia Limited (ABN 94 648 811 830; AFSL 529893) (Sharesies).

  2. You must review these Terms prior to the purchase of tickets. By purchasing tickets you agree to be bound by these Terms. Sharesies reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Where these Terms are updated, the most recent version will be made available on our website.

  3. Reference to “we”, “our” and “us” throughout these Terms refers to Sharesies and its associated entities. Any references to “you” will refer to the individual or business that is purchasing the tickets.

  4. Upcoming events will be listed on either our website, our social media channels or by private invitation, including invitation to those listed on our mailing addresses. The details of the event will be published on the ticketing page, including date, time, location and ticket price.

  5. Ticketing:

    1. The information for the event is listed on the event advertisement and/or invitation. This includes the date, time, location and ticket price, if applicable.

    2. Where a ticket price is applicable, this will be listed on the event advertisement and/or event invitation. Ticket prices are subject to change, and Sharesies will take steps to ensure that changes to ticket prices are communicated. Where you have already purchased a ticket, you will not be impacted by any subsequent price change, unless you are purchasing an upgrade option, where available, which is subject to a price increase.

    3. Tickets will be made available by Humanitix or another ticketing or event support platform, unless otherwise stated. Where purchasing tickets through Humanitix, or any other ticketing platform, you agree to be bound by the terms of use for the website, if applicable, this includes any event support platform, including broadcasting platform used to access the event. Where the ticketing platform charges a transaction and/or booking fee, Sharesies may choose to pass all or part of this fee on to you for payment as part of the ticket price

    4. All ticket purchases are final. No exchange, credit or refund will be given for any reason, except in the case of certain cancelled or rescheduled events.

    5. Sharesies is not liable for any costs you have incurred to attend the event, including any travel or accommodation expenses. This includes where an event is cancelled or postponed.

    6. An event advertisement and/or invitation does not guarantee you an event ticket. You will need to complete the ticket purchasing process, including paying any applicable ticket cost, to secure your ticket.

  6. Refunds, Transfers and Exchanges:

    1. If you arrive late or are refused entry for any reason to the event you have purchased a ticket for, you will not be entitled to a refund or credit.

    2. You may be able to transfer your ticket to another recipient by contacting Sharesies on the contact details provided on the invite. Transfers are not guaranteed and Sharesies is not obliged to fulfil a transfer request.

  7. Event Postponement or Cancellation

    1. Where an event is postponed, Sharesies may choose to cancel and refund any ticket price paid less any booking and/or transaction fee paid to the ticketing agent. Where Sharesies has cancelled your ticket for a postponed event, you will need to purchase a new ticket for the event. If Sharesies does not cancel your ticket, Sharesies will notify you for the new date and time for the event. If you are unable to attend the new time, Sharesies may give you a credit toward a future event or refund you the money. Where the event was a free event with no purchase price, Sharesies will not provide a refund or credit.

    2. Where an event is cancelled, Sharesies will refund any ticket price less any booking and/or transaction fee.

  8. Event Promotions

    1. Promotions and/or competitions may be run at Sharesies events. Where a promotion/competition is available, you agree to read the applicable promotional terms and conditions available on the Sharesies website. By participating in a promotion/competition at a Sharesies event, you acknowledge and agree to the promotional terms and conditions.

  9. Event Behaviour

    1. During the course of the event, you are expected to behave in a professional and appropriate manner. Sharesies reserves the right to remove you from the event where they deem your behaviour inappropriate. Sharesies will not be liable for any costs you incur in being removed from the event. Where you are removed from an event you will not be entitled to a refund.

  10. Audio-visual Recordings and Permission

    1. Camera, audio and video recordings are not permitted at any Sharesies event unless Sharesies advises you otherwise.

    2. You acknowledge that Sharesies may film and photograph its events. You consent to being filmed and photographed by Sharesies and/or its representatives, and for Sharesies to use your name, likeness, image and/or voice in such films or photographs for the purpose of promoting our events and/or other marketing material. Sharesies will not remunerate you for such use.

  11. Limitation of Liability

    1. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all conditions and warranties relating to your purchase of tickets for events.

    2. To extent permitted by law, our liability for breach is limited to the face value of the ticket purchased by you, plus any relevant booking and transaction fees.

    3. In the case of a Force Majeure Event impacting the event and/or delivery of the tickets, we will be excused from any performance under these Terms.

  12. General Terms

    1. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New South Wales.

    2. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, all or part of that provision will be severed from the Terms and will not affect the enforceability of the remaining provisions of the Terms.

    3. In these Terms, a “Force Majeure Event” means any of the following (whether or not foreseeable or anticipated): acts of God, terrorism, war, civil unrest, strike or labour dispute, lack of transportation, breakdown, labour or material shortage, blockade or embargo, supplier failure, epidemic or pandemic, government restriction or recommendation, legal requirement, extreme weather, earthquake, drought, fire, flood, explosion, natural disaster, and/or any other event, cause or circumstance that is beyond our reasonable control.

    4. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between Sharesies and you in relation to the Events, unless otherwise agreed.
