Sharesies Private was taken offline temporarily for security maintenance from 6pm 21/10/2026 until 8am 22/10/2026 NZDT. This was a precautionary step in response to a credible security advisory about third-party software. Sharesies Private was not affected and your records and holdings remain safe.
What happened
CERT-EU (the Computer Emergency Response Team) published a security advisory about a specific web coding language used by Sharesies Private.
They recommended that affected systems be taken offline until a patch was applied and we took a precautionary measure to keep Sharesies Private secure.
We treat the security of your share register with extreme care, and we chose to follow this guidance. We apologise for the interruption to the service and any inconvenience it caused.
