If you're unable to prove that you’re you online because:

  • you don't have a current NZ Driver Licence or Passport.
  • or you received a message saying we couldn't verify your identity. 

There might be several reasons why this happened. Don’t worry—it’s easily fixed and we’ll have you investing soon!

What do I need?

You may need a combination of documents—choose from one of the options below. All documents must be certified. Find out how to certify documents.

OPTION 1 

A certified copy of ONE of the following (must be current):

  • NZ Firearms License.
  • NZ Passport.
  • Overseas Passport.

OPTION 2

A certified copy of either your current:

  • New Zealand full birth certificate.
  • Certificate of New Zealand citizenship.

You’ll also need ONE of the following:

  • New Zealand driver licence.
  • 18+ Card.

OPTION 3 

A certified copy of your current:

  • New Zealand driver licence. 

You’ll also need ONE of the following:

Registered bank documents:

  • Something that shows your name and signature e.g  a credit card, debit card or EFTPOS card.
  • A bank statement that’s less than 12 months old.

Government agency documents:

  • Something that contains the person’s name and signature, e.g a SuperGold Card.
  • A statement from a government agency that’s less than 12 months old  e.g a statement from the Inland Revenue Department.

Foreign government documents:

  • A citizenship certificate from another country 
  • A birth certificate issued by a foreign government, the United Nations or an agency of the United Nations.
