Some of our hosts do have training or backgrounds in mental health, but they’re not acting as therapists or clinicians on ShareWell. Think of them as skilled moderators — they’re there to guide the conversation, make sure everyone feels heard, and keep the space safe and respectful. Our peer support groups are about people helping people through shared experiences, not clinical advice or treatment.
If you’re attending a ShareWell coaching group, those grous are led by expert facilitators such as licensed coaches and wellness practitioners. Even then, they’re not offering therapy — they’re bringing their tools and insights to support growth, not to diagnose or treat.
If you’re booking a 1:1 call, those calls are led by trained Peer Specialists. Peer Specialists are not therapists or clinicians; they offer private, non-clinical support rooted in lived experience, active listening, and presence.
Example: A host leading a group on grief may have personally experienced loss and now wants to hold space for others going through something similar. They’re not offering medical advice — they’re offering empathy, perspective, and connection.
If you have lived experience and feel called to give back, you might make a great host too. Learn more about hosting here and clicking the Host Resources tab at the top of the screen.
