Are ShareWell hosts professional therapists, clinicians, or social workers?

Some of our hosts do have training or backgrounds in mental health, but they’re not acting as therapists on ShareWell. Think of them more like skilled moderators—they’re there to guide the conversation, make sure everyone feels heard, and keep the space safe and respectful. Our peer support sessions are all about people helping people through shared experiences—not clinical advice or treatment.

If you’re attending a ShareWell Pro session, those are led by expert facilitators—like coaches, wellness and other mental health professionals. But even then, they’re not offering therapy—they’re bringing their best tools and insights to help you grow, not diagnose or treat.

Example: A host leading a session on grief may have personally experienced loss and now wants to hold space for others going through something similar. They’re not offering medical advice—they’re offering empathy, perspective, and connection.

If you have lived experience and feel called to give back, you might make a great host too. Learn more about hosting here and clicking the Host Resources tab at the top of the screen.
