Connecting Xero to Sheep

Xero makes it easy to track your businesses expenses and accounting with well designed mobile apps and web interfaces.

Add Xero to SheepCRM

  1. Navigate to Settings

  2. Scroll down to the "Financial Services" section

  3. Click the "Connect to Xero" button

You'll be asked to login to Xero and to approve access for Sheep to your data.

Integration Details

Contacts

  • Contact created in Xero pulled to Sheep?: No (contacts in Xero can be low quality)

  • Contact created in Sheep pushed to Xero? Yes, on demand, not automatic 

  • Contact matching from Xero to Sheep? Yes, triggered by changes in Xero. Matched records are linked and missing fields filled in.

Payments

  • Payments created in Xero pulled to Sheep?: Not by default; choose the accounts codes to import (request via support, self-services coming)

  • Payments created in Sheep pushed to Xero? No

  • Linked Contacts will show Xero payments in the partner section of the transactions tab for the contact

Invoices

  • Invoices created in Xero pulled to Sheep?: No

  • Invoices created in Sheep pushed to Xero? Yes, on demand, not automatic

  • Linked Contacts will show Xero invoices in the partner section of the invoices tab for the contact

Custom contact links connect your contacts in Xero with your customer details in SheepCRM

  1. Click on the organisation name, select Settings, then click Custom Contact Links.

  2. Click Add a Custom Link.

  3. Name – Enter the name SheepCRM.

  4. Link Definition – Enter the URL https://sheepcrm.com/api/v1/your-database-name/partner/xero/externalid/  

  5. Contact Fields Chooser – Select the contact field "ContactID" in Xero to match the link you want to create.

  6. Add a "/" to the end of the URL after the Xero Contact ID

  7. Click Save.

Once you've created a custom link, every contact in Xero will have a direct link to this system.

A full link should look like this: https://sheepcrm.com/api/v1/example/partner/xero/externalid/{!CONTACTID}/
