Settings: Teams Settings

Team settings allow admins to control a number of Global configurable features for teams in both the CRM and sheepApp.

What are Teams settings?

These Team settings are the global settings for the Teams module. Not to be confused with individual team settings or config.

These settings are only accessible by sheepCRM administrators and allow for controlling a number of settings when it comes to managing teams in the CRM and what sheepApp users see when they are viewing teams in the sheepApp.

How do I change Teams settings?

As a sheepCRM administrator, you can change these global teams settings by going to https://settings.sheepcrm.com/app/config/team_settings

Or find them under Settings > Self-service App > Team Settings


From here their are three configurable areas.

General Settings

  • Email a team

    • Allow team leaders to email everyone in a team directly from sheepCRM. A message action icon will appear near the add contact button on an individual team's management page.

  • Export a team

    • Allow team leaders to download their team as an Excel file. A download icon will appear near the add contact button button on an individual teams management page. See above screenshot.

Please note: Currently, the available fields in the export are controlled by us. If you need additional fields in this export, please get in contact with us for support. The aim for the future is that this will be configurable by admins via a fieldset. We will update this article as and when that happens.


sheepApp controls

  • Enable teams in sheepApp

    • Teams can be accessed in sheepApp

    • This is the same as the global sheepApp settings under available options.

  • Team event visibility

    • If you are using teams with events, you can choose whether team events will be shown in the main events index in sheepApp

      • Off (Default setting. Will be shown on both unless specified)

      • Team events on team pages only

      • Team events will also be shown in sheepApp events index

  • Number of concurrent applications (Default = blank)

    • The number of concurrent applications allowed for an individual. Leave blank for no limit.

    • This setting is only used in specific situations where applicants should never have more than one open application for a group at any one time

App Content

These fields allow you to override a lot of the language and copy in sheepApp in regards to teams. We understand you might need to change some of the default language to better suit their needs. For example, you might call your teams, regions, car clubs etc and therefore you can update our default text to better suit your needs.

  • Noun

    • Override the default label shown in the sheepApp Teams section. sheepCRM uses "Team" but your organisation might use e.g. "Section", "Team", "Group"

  • Noun (Plural)

    • Override the default label shown in the sheepApp Teams section. sheepCRM uses "Teams" but your organisation might use e.g. "Sections", "Teams", "Groups"

  • Teams Heading

    • Override the default heading shown in the sheepApp Teams section. sheepCRM uses "Browse Teams" but your organisation might use e.g. "Browse Sections", "Browse Teams", "Browse Groups"

  • Teams Path

    • The path to the teams page in sheepApp. Use this if you are using a custom view for your teams. If left blank, the default path will be used. NB. No leading slash

  • Call to action

    • Override the default prompt or action button shown in the sheepApp Teams section. sheepCRM uses "Apply for a team". This field supports markdown.

  • Log in phrase

    • Override the default prompt or action button shown in the sheepApp Teams section. sheepCRM uses "Log in to apply"

  • Empty text

    • Shown when there are no available teams in the sheepApp Teams section.
