IDEXX: Integration Setup

Here's how to get IDEXX in-house and/or reference labs hooked up in Shepherd.

What you need

  1. VetConnectPlus login credentials

    1. Username

    2. Password

  2. LIMS ID

Setting up the integration

  1. Navigate to Integrations under Admin in your Shepherd menu

  2. Choose the IDEXX Laboratories integration from the list

    1. This will open your practice's IDEXX integration page.

From the integration page:

  1. Click on the toggle next to Credentials to make it Active

  2. Input your:

    • VetConnectPlus username

    • LIMS ID

    • VetConnectPlus password

  3. Click the green Save button. This will validate your credentials.

Note: If your credentials aren't valid, try entering them again—or contact IDEXX.

After your credentials are validated and the Integration is Enabled, this will start the download of IDEXX's diagnostic services into the Lab Integrated Products section of Shepherd (Admin>Products>Lab Integration Products>IDEXX Products).

Expect this process to take between 5–30 minutes to initialize (depending on your internet speed).

Back in Admin>Integrations >IDEXX Laboratories you will also see another box pop up for Devices, under your credentials.

  • There is a Sync Devices button to sync your in-house VetLabStation.

Please discuss this step with your Account Manager prior to syncing to make sure you do not interrupt your setup with your current PIMs; they will guide you on the best timeline to sync your in-house devices with Shepherd.
