Rx Section Update

You asked for them, and we made them. Here's a rundown of our new Rx section's design and functionality.

Updated over a week ago

New functionality:

We've updated some Rx designs and added functionality, allowing you to more easily access patient prescriptions, edit instructions, and access past Rx information.

Marking an Rx as "Chronic Medication"

If you want to keep a prescription at the top of a patient's Rx list in their profile, you'll want to mark it as a "chronic medication."

To do this, open a patient profile > select the Rx > click 'Edit.'

From here, turn on the 'chronic medication' toggle (green) to the right of the medication name.

Note: chronic medications will have an orange icon to the right of the medication name in the patient profile.

Editing a Label

There are two places you can quickly edit an Rx's instructions: the patient profile and the Rx page. Along with this update, there is a new user role permission "Update Prescriptions and Refills" to allow access to editing a label.

Note: with recent design updates, instructions now populate in the Rx section of a patient's profile for quick reference.

Editing from the Patient Profile

  1. Navigate to the Rx section of a patient's profile

  2. Click into the text section (orange)

  3. Change the text

  4. Select 'Save'

Editing from the Rx Page

  1. Open a prescription's page

  2. Click inside the text field

  3. Update the text

  4. Click 'Save'

Update Prescriptions and Refills User Role

In order to allow a user to edit an Rx, either on the patient profile or the Rx page, the user must have the "Update Prescriptions and Refills" permission enabled.

Viewing Rx Label History

The new design of the prescription page shows the first and most recent labels. If you want to see all labels (as well as print them, or open any associated invoices), click the "Show other change(s)" button in the Rx page.
