Shift types allow you to assign a specific category to shifts. This is particularly useful when you are setting up a Sleepover or Night Shift.
This guide includes:
Using Shift Types
When generating a shift, simply click the 'Shift Type' drop-down menu and select the appropriate shift type. You can also add more shift types in the 'Additional Shift Types' section.
Once a shift type/s is selected, continue to fill out shift information as per usual.
Adding New Shift Types
You can add new shift types to suit your requirements.
Navigate to Account > Settings from the sidebar menu.
Scroll down and locate the Shift types section. Click 'Edit'.
This will open the 'Edit Shift Type' pop-up window, where you can see the list of shift types in your account, their External IDs, colours, and when they were last updated.
To create your own shift type, click 'Add new shift type' at the bottom of the window.
Note: You will find that some pre-filled system-generated shift types cannot be deleted/archived.
Fill out the name, external ID, and adjust the colour of the shift type as needed.
Click 'Save'.
Here is a GIF on how to add a new shift type.
The colour tag will be applied to the Scheduler according to the selected shift type.
Archiving and Unarchiving Shift Types
To archive a shift type, click the red trash bin corresponding to the shift type you want to remove.
To unarchive a shift type, toggle on 'Show archived' in the upper right corner of the pop-up window.
A list of all your archived shift types will be displayed. Click the blue trash bin to unarchive a shift type.
