New Order Creation and Order Detail Experience for v3 Order Customers

Shipwell has implemented the new order creation and order details experience for v3 order customers. This updateexperience will save users time when creating, editing, and viewing orders.

Note this new order experience is optional to utilize at this time (anticipate going live for all customers end of Q2 2025) and will continue to be enhanced.

Key benefits of the updated order creation, editing, and viewing experience

Navigation Ease: Navigation ease by selecting shipment creation page segment within the index on the lefthand side of page.

Required Field Focused: The lefthand panel displays when the required fields have been completed in a section by filling in a green circle with a checkbox. Further, sections that have required information have a red star next to it.

Instead of having all available fields presented at once, the new order experience hides most of the fields that are deemed as optional fields. Users can easily access by selecting ‘More Options’.

Easily Summarized Order Information: Easily Summarized Order Information: Quickly review high-level order information based on what is present on the order at the time and when edits occur then it is quickly modified.

Improved Experience After Order Is Created: Users have improved experience with the same capabilities they were used to access like uploading order documents, viewing if workflows ran for an order, or taking action like creating shipments, handling units, and order releases.

How to access the new order experience?

Your Customer Success Manager or Implementation Consultant will reach out and ask if you want this activated and if so then they will turn it on. It is activated for all users at once. Note when we do the release we will by default activating it in sandbox for all companies so you can try it out there first.

Shipwell SuiteApp Upgrade

Shipwell continues to make the implementation process easier for our valued NetSuite customers. Shipwell SuiteApp’s expanded capabilities include the ability to import NetSuite data into most of Shipwell’s supported inbound order information fields from NetSuite. Further, the new fields being supported such as refrigeration, value per piece, hazmat fields, etc. have new Shipwell custom fields within NetSuite for each of these fields in the Shipwell SuiteApp. Included as part of this Shipwell SuiteApp enhancement is the ability to map NetSuite custom fields into Shipwell custom fields for your Shipwell Custom Reference Data, Custom Stop Data, and Custom Line Data fields.

The Shipwell SuiteApp now provides an interface within the Shipwell Integrations area for NetSuite to map out your SuiteApp custom fields if you do not seek to use standard mappings for Shipwell. You can access this page by selecting ‘Manage’ → ‘Company’ → ‘Intgegrations’ → ‘NetSuite’ → ‘Data Mapping’.

There are sections for:

  • Order Information In

    • Order Information: Provides reference level data field mapping for orders including Custom Reference Data.

    • Ship From: Provides ship from level data field mapping for orders including Custom Stop Data.

    • Ship To: Provides ship to level data field mapping for orders including Custom Stop Data.

    • Order Line Items: Provides order line item data field mapping for orders including Custom Line Item Data.

    • Global Field Configurations: Provides global field configurations that supercede certain individual fields.

  • Shipment Information Out: Provides key shipment level information mapping back from Shipwell into NetSuite.

When a user wants to map a field different from the SuiteApp’s default mapping then you simply search for the NetSuite custom field that is available and choose from the ‘NetSuite Field’ dropdown to map the against the designated ‘Shipwell Field’. Customers can map no fields and the Shipwell SuiteApp will use its standard mappings or users can map one or more mappings as they see fit.

Can I make updates to my field mappings?

  • Yes, anyone with proper user permissions can indeed make mapping changes.

Area all NetSuite fields available for mappings?

  • Many but not all. Currently all NetSuite custom data fields that fit into a string, integer, decimal types are available. We will also be adding boolean and date and time types shortly. In the future, we expect to support list types.

What happens to my previous orders within Shipwell if I change field mappings?

  • It is perfectly fine to update field mappings within Shipwell SuiteApp configuration area. Field mapping changes will NOT impact prior orders but instead will be used in going forward process.

Do I need to do anything to have these expanded SuiteApp benefits?

  • No, these will be available to all existing Shipwell SuiteApp customers once the release is completed automatically

Are there different mappings for different types of SuiteApp orders (e.g. Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, etc.)?

  • Not at this time. Potentially in the future this is something we may support based on customer interest. If there is a need for this we would appreciate you letting your Customer Success Manager know.

What happens if I delete or rename a custom field within NetSuite that is mapped in the Shipwell SuiteApp configuration?

  • The deleted or modified NetSuite field will be recognized as no longer available and Shipwell SuiteApp will go back to usinh the default field mapping for the respective Shipwell field.

What SuiteApp Enhancements Are Next?

  • Upcoming is the ability allow customers to:

    • 1. Upgrade their Shipwell SuiteApp from v2 orders to v3 orders and gain many of the additional capabilities of v3 orders.

    • 2. Making enhancements on Shipment Financial information coming back from Shipwell into NetSuite.

    • 3. Expanding out the Shipwell SuiteApp to support all Shipwell modes.

Webhooks

The ability to replay or retry webhook deliveries via API is coming in the next release, Release 25.07.

This is an advanced notice of the new Shipwell functionality.

A new REST API endpoint that enables API caller to resend, retry, or republish a previously attempted webhook delivery will be available in the Shipwell API. This endpoint will be used when a webhook delivery attempt fails, times out, or is requested again for any other reason.

Core use cases for the ability to replay a specific previous webhook attempt are:

  • Replay or retry a webhook attempt that failed or timed out

  • Debug or using a payload from an existing webhook attempt

  • Fix an issue by replaying webhooks that already succeeded

  • Etc.
