Enhanced Dock Rules: Product Category and Reference Matching
Facilities can now control exactly which products are allowed on each dock. A new Enhanced Dock Rules setting on the Facility Info page unlocks:
Product Category on Dock Rules. Dock rules (and Load Types) can list the product categories a dock accepts, alongside the existing Product References.
All vs At least one matching. Each rule chooses whether every item on the load must match the rule's categories/references, or whether one matching item is enough. This fixes the case where a mixed load (for example Produce + Dairy) could not book a dock configured for only one of them.
Every line item is evaluated. Previously only the first line item on a load was checked. With Enhanced Dock Rules on, the whole load is evaluated, and items with no product information no longer slip onto restricted docks.
Turning the setting on is per facility. With the setting off, nothing changes: existing facilities keep today's behavior until they opt in. To see the new matching controls, enable Enhanced Dock Rules on Facility Info, save, then open Docks or Load Types.
Improved: Temperature Range Calculation
Shipments with multiple temperature-controlled items now use the intersection of the item temperature ranges (the most restrictive overlapping range) instead of the broadest range. This ensures every item on the shipment stays within its validated safe temperature limits, supporting food safety and regulatory compliance.
Example: a shipment with items rated
-10°F to 10°F
-5°F to 15°F
-20°F to 30°F
previously produced a shipment range of -20°F to 30°F (the broadest range).
It now produces -5°F to 10°F, the range that keeps every item safe.
Please note that orders where temperatures on line items do not overlap, the shipment creation will be rejected. We will add a configuration option to allow non-overlapping temperatures shortly. This does not impact already created shipments.
Improved: Carrier Connections Tracking
Direct carrier connection tracking has been enhanced to include all intermediate terminal updates and informational updates into the shipment timeline. The terminal updates are also geocoded allowing progress updates to appear on the map. Half of the direct connection carriers have been deployed, with the remaining carriers being updated over the next 2 weeks. The carriers currently deployed include R+L Carriers, ODFL, Southeastern Freight Lines, Estes, XPO, FedEx, SAIA, Dayton Freight Lines, Pitt Ohio, ABF, Roadrunner, A. Duie Pyle, and Ward Trucking.
Overview
This release adds flat fuel surcharge (FSC) support to RFP carrier bids and contracts, appointment documents and Enhanced Dock Rules in the Dock Scheduling API, and a scheduling invitation acceptance schema. No endpoints or fields were removed. Document type, routing guide policy search and appointment PATCH changes shipped in 26.12 and are covered in the 26.12 release notes.
API Changes
Two changes may need attention from existing integrations; both widen the values the API can return.
Area | Change | Impact |
Dock scheduling | New appointment status | Action required |
Dock scheduling | Appointment documents and required-document checks | New capability |
Dock scheduling | Enhanced Dock Rules (product category and reference matching) | New capability |
Dock scheduling | Request an appointment time outside offered availability | New capability |
RFP / Contracts | Flat fuel surcharge ( | New capability |
Carriers |
| New capability |
Identity | Scheduling invitation acceptance schemas | New capability |
Action Required
These changes are additive, but clients that validate responses strictly against a fixed list of values may reject data that is now valid.
1. New appointment status and equipment type (Dock Scheduling)
What changed: AppointmentStatusEnum adds TEMP_DRAFT (an appointment created through the draft flow and not yet submitted). DockSchedulingEquipmentTypeEnum adds ASPHALT.
What to check: If your client maps these values to a fixed set, add them or fall back to a default for unknown values.
Appointment Documents (Dock Scheduling API)
Documents can now be attached to Self Schedule (aka Non Managed Scheduling) appointments, including draft appointments, one file per request.
Endpoint | Purpose |
| List documents on an appointment (metadata only, newest first) |
| Upload one document |
| Get a download URL |
| Remove a document |
| Read-only preview of which required documents are present or missing |
Facilities can set appointment_required_document_types (BOL, PACKING_SLIPS, DELIVERY_RECEIPT, PURCHASE_ORDER) that external schedulers must provide before booking. A type counts as provided when a matching document is attached to the appointment, its shipment, or its orders.
Request an Appointment Time (Dock Scheduling API)
POST /facilities/appointments/{appointment_id}/request-time requests a window the facility does not offer for an UNSCHEDULED shipment appointment. Availability is not checked and the appointment moves to REQUESTED, awaiting the facility. New draft schemas (CreateAppointmentDraft, SubmitAppointmentDraftRequest) support the draft flow.
Enhanced Dock Rules (Dock Scheduling API)
Schema | New field | Description |

Other Minor Enhancements and Bug Fixes
Description |
Fixed: Archive Orders Availability. We removed an incorrect feature-flag gate that hid the Archive Orders bulk action on the Orders dashboard for most companies. It is live for all users on release, no feature flag or setup needed. |
Fixed: Archive Action on Archived Orders. Orders that are already archived no longer offer the Archive action. |
Fixed: Self Schedule Requested Appointment Visibility. Requested appointments now show by default on the Self Schedule Third Party’s Appointments list, so schedulers can see the appointment they just requested. |
Fixed: Self Schedule Appointment Request Emails. Request emails no longer read as confirmations; the confirmation number is sent only once the facility confirms, and a confirmation email is now sent on approval. |
Fixed: Manual Appointment Approval. Facilities requiring manual approval are now honored in Non Managed Scheduling; requests no longer auto-confirm. |
Fixed: Blank Calendar Cards. Calendar cards no longer show blank values for appointments not tied to a shipment. |
Improved: Calendar Card Customization Save. The Save control now follows the saved-views pattern and only enables when a card setting has changed. |
Fixed: Clone as a Shipment. Cloning a shipment now opens the new shipment builder. |
Fixed: Orders Dashboard Search. Search again matches partial keywords and location fields (city, state, zip), restoring the search behavior from the previous orders experience. |
Fixed: Shipment Line Item Updates. We resolved the Field Error that blocked updating quantities or dimensions directly on shipment line items. |
Fixed: Duplicate Line Items When Adding Orders. Re-adding an order already on a shipment no longer duplicates line items or stops. |
Fixed: Carrier invoices no longer arrive with misplaced decimal amounts in Settlements. |
Fixed: Invoice Variance Evaluation. Resubmitted invoices with a variance beyond the configured tolerance no longer evaluate to Passed, and Invoiced vs Expected amounts display consistently. |
Fixed: Order Freight Cost Saves. We resolved the Internal Error that blocked saving Order Freight Cost on affected orders. |
Fixed: Additional BOL Recipients. Selecting an email after searching now adds it to the recipients list. |
Fixed: BOLs send when carrier accepts tender and carrier is assigned to shipment. |
Fixed: Missing Signatures on Delivery Documents (iOS) We resolved an issue where signatures captured in the mobile app were not appearing on delivery documents for certain shipments. This fix ensures that all proof-of-delivery signatures are correctly appended to your PDFs, regardless of how the shipment was created. |
Improved Signature Reliability (iOS) We fixed a bug that caused the mobile app to occasionally fail to save signatures without notifying the driver. The app will now correctly associate signatures with the appropriate stop or prompt the driver if a stop needs to be selected, ensuring no data is lost. |
Fixed: Missing Signatures on Delivery Documents (iOS & Android) We resolved an issue across both mobile platforms where signatures captured by drivers were not appearing on delivery documents. All signatures are now reliably saved and appended to the final shipment documents. |
Enhanced Location Tracking Reliability (iOS) We resolved an issue where location tracking would fail to start if a driver granted location permissions after the app was already open. Tracking now begins immediately once permissions are enabled, ensuring consistent visibility for your shipments without requiring the driver to restart the app. |
Improved Samsara Geofence Automation We fixed a bug that prevented automatic arrival and delivery updates for shipments integrated with Samsara. Automatic status changes will now trigger reliably, even if the carrier or equipment is updated while the shipment is in progress. |
Restored Visibility for Ocean Container Tracking We resolved an issue that prevented tracking from initiating on certain FCL (Full Container Load) ocean shipments. Shippers will now see consistent tracking updates and milestones for all ocean shipments using Master Bill of Lading (MBOL) tracking. The system will now check the BOL field if the MBOL field is empty or contains an invalid value. Users should continue to leverage the MBOL field first, to ensure tracking is initiated. Users will now also see the “Tracking Requested” & “Tracking Started” timeline cards indicating that the tracking request is successful and updates will continue to be posted. |
Fixed: Estes Volume LTL Quoting. We resolved an issue where Estes Volume LTL rates were appearing as $0.00 during the confirmation step. You can now accurately quote and book Volume LTL shipments with Estes. |
Fixed: Automated Tracking Notifications. We fixed a bug that prevented automated pickup and delivery email notifications from being sent for shipments tracked via carrier connections. Visibility into your shipment milestones is now fully restored. |
Updated: Cloudtrucks Billing Contact. The default billing email for Cloudtrucks shipments has been updated to ctxltl@cloudtrucks.com to ensure invoices reach the correct department. |
Improved: Cloudtrucks Integration Compatibility. We updated reference labels (PO, BOL, and Shipment Ref) for Cloudtrucks dispatches to ensure seamless data transfer and prevent integration errors. |
Fixed: FedEx Freight Tracking Reliability. We resolved an issue where FedEx Freight PRO numbers were not automatically importing after pickup. This ensures your shipments transition to "In Transit" status and tracking updates flow correctly. |
New: Estes Bulkhead Accessorial. You can now select and quote the "Secure Shipment Divider (Bulkhead)" accessorial for Estes shipments, ensuring accurate rating for specialized equipment needs. |
Improved: FedEx BOL Accuracy. The Bill of Lading (BOL) PDF for FedEx Freight shipments now explicitly displays the "Priority" service level, helping to prevent misrouting and ensuring the correct service is performed. |
Fixed: Duie Pyle Rate Markups. We resolved an issue where customer-specific markups were not correctly displaying for Duie Pyle in the rate results. Your quoted rates will now accurately reflect your configured margins. |
Fixed: Vortex Fuel Surcharge Calculation. We corrected a calculation error for Vortex LTL shipments where fuel surcharges were being applied incorrectly. Fuel costs are now accurately calculated as a percentage of the line haul. |
New: Roadrunner Volume LTL Quoting. You can now receive instant Volume LTL rates from Roadrunner via their Spot Quote API, providing more options for your larger LTL shipments. |
Fixed: C.H. Robinson Pickup References. We resolved an issue where Pickup IDs were not populating for shipments dispatched via C.H. Robinson direct connections. These critical reference numbers are now correctly captured and displayed. |
Fixed: Averitt PRO Number Generation. We resolved a connectivity issue that prevented PRO numbers from being automatically assigned to Averitt Express shipments. Automated tracking will now initiate immediately upon dispatch. |
Fixed: R+L Tracking Updates. We resolved an issue where R+L shipments remained in "Confirmed" status after pickup. Shipments will now automatically transition to "In Transit" as soon as the carrier records the pickup. |
Fixed: Echo Service Level Accuracy. We updated the Echo Global Logistics integration to ensure only supported service levels are displayed during quoting, preventing the selection of unavailable "Guaranteed" options. |
Fixed: RFP Re-Bid Accuracy. We resolved an issue where minimum rate floors from previous RFP rounds were incorrectly carried over to new bids. This ensures your negotiated Round 2 rates are applied correctly without interference from stale data. |
Improved: Ward eBOL Notifications. We disabled redundant automated BOL emails from Ward to prevent confusion with Shipwell-generated documents, ensuring a cleaner communication workflow for your contacts. |
Fixed: Linear Foot Rule Enforcement. We resolved a timeout issue that prevented linear foot restrictions from being applied to Roadrunner shipments. The system will now correctly exclude carriers when shipment dimensions exceed their limits. |
Fixed: Fuel Surcharge Timing. We corrected the fuel surcharge logic to ensure rates are calculated based on the actual ship date rather than the shipment creation date. This ensures financial accuracy and alignment with market rates at the time of transport. |
Improved: Estes Arrival Reporting. We updated the Estes integration to ensure "Actual Arrival" times are correctly recorded. This improves the accuracy of your delivery performance reporting. |
New: Additional Document Types. You can now categorize uploaded shipment documents as "Certificate of Analysis" or "Safety Data Sheets," making it easier to manage and retrieve critical compliance paperwork. |
