Carriers can update shipment financials and add accessorials or other charges within Shipwell. Here is a 2-minute video covering the process at https://vimeo.com/shipwell/carrer-add-new-shipment-financials

Follow these steps to update shipment financials within Shipwell:

  1. Login to Shipwell https://auth.shipwell.com/

  2. On the Shipment Dashboard page click on the Shipment ID that you are seeking to update and this will take you to the Shipment Details page for the shipment

  3. On the Shipment Details page select the ‘Financials’ tab to go to where the shipment financials are located

  4. On the ‘Customer’ card you will be able to add shipment financials by clicking on the pencil icon and this will open the financial editing option

  5. Select ‘+ Add Line Item’ to add new charge line items or adjust previous charge line items. Once you are good with the change press ‘Save’.

  6. When adjusting financials you should do two things:

    1. Send a ‘Message’ on why the change was made via the standard shipment messaging in using the side panel, and

    2. Upload supporting documents on related to the financial change (e.g. a lumper receipt or some other needed documentation)

  7. The lines added or changed will then be displayed in ‘Red’ until your ‘Customer’ has approved those changes.

  8. Once a ‘Customer’ has approved the financial change then you will see your financial change in black.

Note: It is important to note that you should follow the process of your customer in modifying financials and what documentation and communication should be made. Further, currently you can message or add supporting documents within the Shipwell mobile application but you are not able to modify or add financial items at this time. This is being worked on and anticipate in H1 of 2023.
