Address Book “Location” Permissions and Financial Permission Enhancements
In an effort to continue to allow our customers to better manage and configure Shipwell access, we have added Shipment Financials user permissions and started the process of implementing Address Book permissions. Shipment Financials permissions is in place and active but note the Address Book permission implementation is still in process and the full deployment here is targeted for next week. We are including both in these release notes for awareness purposes. These are both available for management within the ‘Manage’ → ‘Company' → ‘Users’ → Select individual user workflow.
Address Book: Address Book permission gives user the ability to view, create, edit, and delete address book entries. Generally speaking, you will want to provide your users access to view address book entries.
Disclaimer: All existing users as of the time of this release have been migrated to have Address Book view, edit, create, and delete access as this was the access they had prior when this access was not restricted.
Shipment Financials: Allows user to view shipment financials on pages including shipment details, shipment dashboard, and new shipment creation. If a user will be able to update financials will be determined if the user has ‘Shipments' ‘Edit’ access along with this ‘Shipment Financials’ ‘View’ access. This access restricts document viewing of financial related document types also (e.g. Rate Confirmation, Invoice, Rendition / Invoice Packet, etc.).
Users can still upload financial documents, but they will not be able to view them once uploaded.
Disclaimers:
This restriction does NOT restrict financials displayed in the Analytics area of the platform. Accordingly, if users cannot view financials, then they should also not have access to 'Analytics’.

API Documentation 24/7 Virtual Assistant (Beta)
In an effort to provide our customers better and more thorough service, we have added a 24/7 virtual assistant in our API documentation. This assistant is trained on our API and documentation and can be asked a variety of questions. Locate the assistant in the pink dialogue icon in the bottom right-hand of the docs.shipwell.com page.
Click on it and ask it a question. For example, what are the possible invoice statuses that can occur.
These questions can even include asking which endpoint to use for an item or ask it to provide sample code and identify your coding language. It is a virtual assistant and will not always be perfect.
Our vision is this assistant will be an important supplement to your implementation consultant and solutions engineer and be another way that we assist you in getting implemented more efficiently and effectively.
This assistant is in beta, and we will continue to invest in making it better. We encourage you to use it and provide feedback on what worked well and what didn’t to your implementation consultant and/or solutions engineer.
