How to Set Up Slab-Based Split COD Payments in Flo Checkout

Learn how to configure slab-based split COD payments in Shopflo Flo Checkout, where the upfront payment amount scales with the order value to reduce RTO risk.

Written by Swapnil Sangal

Slab-based split COD lets you collect a partial upfront payment at checkout, with the amount varying based on the order value. For example, orders between ₹700-₹1,500 might require 10% upfront, while orders above that require 20%. This helps reduce RTO risk by ensuring higher-value orders have more skin in the game from the customer.

How to Set Up Slab-Based Split COD

Step 1: Go to the Flo Checkout page in your Shopflo dashboard.

Step 2: Click on RTO in the menu.

Step 3: Find the Split Payment option and click on it. & Step 4: Click Edit Rules.

Step 5: In the modal, define your first slab by setting the order value range - for example, ₹700 to ₹1,500.

Step 6: Set the upfront payment required for this slab - either a percentage (e.g. 10%) or a flat amount.

Step 7: Toggle Exclude COD charges from split calculation if you want the upfront amount to be calculated on the product total only, excluding any COD fee.

Step 8: Click Add Slab to define additional ranges. For example, set a higher upfront percentage for orders above ₹1,500. Repeat until all your order value ranges are covered.

Step 9: Click Save to apply your slab configuration.
