Vehicle, Labor, and Parts Lookup
Note: These features are available at the Genius subscription plan.
To start using Vehicle, Labor, and Parts Lookup features, you need to be viewing an estimate. If you do not already have an estimate you want to build out, you can create a new Estimate from the top right header + button:
Now that you have an estimate created, it's time to choose a vehicle. Similar to creating an estimate, you can create a vehicle from the + button. Or when selecting a vehicle from within an estimate, you can alternatively add a new vehicle.
Vehicle Lookup helps you quickly find a specific make and model. Creating a new vehicle this way pre-populates important vehicle information, saving you time and effort. In addition, selecting a vehicle using the lookup is mandatory to enable the use of Labor and Parts Lookup capabilities.
When creating a new vehicle, you have multiple ways to perform a lookup. You can create a vehicle by License Plate, VIN, or Year/Make/Model:
If the vehicle's information was entered manually, a Not Linked icon is visible next to the vehicle. This indicates that the selected vehicle will not be eligible for Labor and Parts Lookup.
Click on the vehicle to see more options, then click the Link button.
You will be prompted to enter the VIN or make, model, and year. Click Link next to the desired vehicle from the list and then click Save.
Now that the vehicle look-up is complete, you can utilize the Labor and Parts Lookup.
Labor and Parts Lookup
Labor and Parts Lookup helps you quickly find the OEM labor hours and parts prices for a given service. You can add any number of services to an estimate using this lookup capability.
To use the Labor and Parts Lookup from within the Services page of an order, click anywhere on the Search all services bar.
A list of related OEM hours and prices unique to the vehicle are displayed, as they are driven by the Vehicle Lookup functionality. Note, no lookups are enabled for a vehicle entered manually.
You can find specific information about the service by hovering over the “i” next to the service title.
Click Add Service to add the service and related parts and labor to the estimate.
Note that you can also expand the service to see all the recommended line items. Click Add Labor to individually add labor items and click Add Part to individually add parts as needed. You can also add only the labor or only the parts if desired by clicking on the ellipsis on the service.
The Services list will also show related services. These related services will be displayed under the main service with a bracket. Each related service will indicate additional time and additional price that will be added to the main service. When you add a related service to an order both the main service and related service will be added. And just like other services you can expand these related services and add labor and add parts as needed.
Once successfully added to the estimate, you can optionally edit the service information, add and remove line items, or save as a Canned Service.
