How to post an event

How to create and post your event on ShortStaf App.

You have downloaded ShortStaf, created your profile and now you're ready to post your first event!

Here is a quick video that will walk you through how to post your event in under 5 minutes.

Step by step:

  1. Create Event - Open the ShortStaf app and make sure you are signed up as a host. On your home dashboard click the "Create Event" button to get started.

  2. Fill in event details - Go down the form and fill out all of your event details. Then click the continue to staff details button.  

  3. Select staff positions - Here is where you tell us what staff you need.  Click the + button next to the positions title and a drop down list will appear of all of the available positions. You can select one by one to see a description of the position. Simply select the staff position you need and how many of that position using the plus and minus buttons to the right of the position title.

  4.  Staff details and pay- Fill in the staff requirements. What do you need the staff to do? Select if you want to pay your staff hourly or a flat rate.  This is up to you, a minimum of $20/hr applies to hourly and a minimum of $60 applies to any flat rate pay. Fill in the dollar amount you want to pay. Not sure how much?  Check out our recommended rates here

  5. Position times - Select the start and end time for this position.  What time do you want the Staf member to arrive and when can you expect them to be finished?  (You can edit your event and staff details up to 24 hours prior to the event start time) Hit Add. 

  6. Add another position or continue.  You can also save your event as a draft and access it anytime through your My Events tab on on your home dashboard.

  7. Review details and pay - After reviewing your event and payment details, use our secure payment system to process the payment for your event.  24 hours after the event end date, the staff will receive their payment. You have up until 24 hours before your event start time to make any changes or cancel with a full refund. After 24 hours, there is a $50 cancellation fee.
