How do I use the “More options (as needed)" option?

A drop down menu offers options for adding a case number and Mature Content designation

Updated over 5 months ago

When preparing your uploaded content for submission, you are given the option to add a case number and Mature Content tag. Please use this guide to determine which applies to your submission, if one is necessary.

Option 1: "Case number"

In certain instances, a member of our Contributor Care team will provide you with a case number to facilitate the submission of your content. Case numbers may be related to:

  • Credentials - you will need to provide a case number if you are submitting editorial content that requires credentials. You will find additional information on credential requirements here.

  • Content ownership transfer - we will provide case numbers in instances when content from one portfolio has been sold to another contributor.

Please keep the following in mind when using the "Case number" field:

  • Use the "Case number" field only if instructed by a Contributor Care agent and only for relevant submissions. If not applicable, leave it blank.

  • Always double-check the number for accuracy before submitting.

  • Do not add anything other than an exact case number provided by the Contributor Care team, or your content will be rejected.

  • Content submitted with an invalid, incorrect, or expired case number will be rejected for Invalid Case Number.

Option 2: "Mature Content"

The Mature Content tag prevents content intended for mature audiences from appearing in Shutterstock’s general search results. Content with the Mature Content tag will only be visible on Shutterstock.com when the Safe Search filter is turned off.

See here for information on when the Mature Content tag is needed for a submission.
