The sanction tab can be located under your providers profile in Silversheet. Within this tab you will be able to run three different sanction checks.

OIG (Office of the Inspector General)

The OIG check identifies providers that have been excluded from participating in Medicare, Medicaid or other federal healthcare programs. The check is run using the providers Social Security Number, Date of Birth, and any other legal names the provider may use.

SAM (System for Award Management)

The SAM check is another government based portal designed to check if a provider has been excluded from any government assistance, benefits, or contracts. This check is run first by using the providers Social Security Number. The check is again run using the providers name.

NPDB (National Practitioners Data Bank)

The NPDB check is run by the Department of Health and Human Services. It is used to track any medical malpractice claims or adverse action reports against a provider. The NPDB check can be run on a monthly basis with the enrollment of continuous query, or on a single query basis.
