Tr3ndy Indicators

There are 5 indicators in the Tr3ndy Indicator bundle:

● Tr3ndy Edges

● Tr3ndy Bands

● LIS

● PMZ

● ST_TurnSignals

There are 2 “Scanner” Files included as well:

● Tr3ndyEdge Scanner

● Tr3ndy PMZ Scanner

Importing the Indicators

To add the studies (PLEASE NOTE: do NOT add the “scanner” studies to a chart – they are for the watchlist gadget only) follow the standard ThinkOrSwim Study import by clicking on the Beaker icon, then clicking the Import button on the lower left part of the screen:

Navigate to where you saved the Tr3ndyIndicators on your local system hard drive, highlight them, then click “Open”.

Once the indicators are imported type Tr3ndy in the studies search box. Double click each

indicator (Tr3ndy Bands, Tr3ndyEdges, Tr3ndyPMZ and Tr3ndyLIS) to add them to your charts.

Customizing the indicators

Click the gear icon for each indicator to customize the settings.

For the PMZ indicator, if you turn on the “futures” option you will see a PMZ box at night.

Otherwise the PMZ box will start printing 5 minutes before the open of the markets. You can customize the PMZ colors here as well.

NOTE: the PMZ is made specifically for a 5-minute chart. Please do not try to use it on a

different time frame from that.

For the Tr3ndyBands, you can modify the options to show “TrendyMode” which changes the colors to match what Tr3ndy Jon uses.

This indicator also has an alert option. Enabling that option will give you alerts when a buy or sell signal is printed. Everything else is the default that Tr3ndy Jon uses on his charts.

For the Tr3ndyEdges you can enable some options as well. You can decide if you want to see edges for Daily time frames or not. You can show targets and enable clouds. Enabling clouds will make thick bands for edges and targets instead of just printing lines. You can enable “accel decel” which will enable acceleration and deceleration arrows on the chart. By default these are disabled:

The Tr3ndyLIS (Line in the Sand) defaults are what Jonathan uses on his charts. You can

change the color of the line plot if you prefer as well as enable or disable arrows, a cloud around the LIS or the price bubble. You can also modify the color of the line for your preference:

Please also note that you MUST enable Extended Hours in order to see the PMZ indicator

boxes plotted to your charts. To enable this, from any chart click the Gear icon in the middle of the chart:

Click the “Equities” tab and ensure that “How Extended Hours Trading Session” is enabled:

Click the Futures tab and enable the same setting. Then click “OK”.

Scanners:

To use the scanners, import them into ThinkOrSwim as normal but do not place them on anychart or try to find them in the “Scanner” tab. Instead, once they are imported, open the

WatchList from the Main ThinkOrSwim Home page. Then click on the small gear icon in the

upper right corner of the Watchlist screen (shown below, highlighted in yellow):

Click Customize from the menu that pops up. In the “Lookup column” box, type PMZ. The PMZ scanner will appear. Left-click to highlight that, then click “Add Item()” which will add it to your watchlist columns:

Do the same for the Tr3ndyEdge Scanner.

PLEASE NOTE: the columns for the scanners will not populate automatically until 5 minutes

after the open of the New York Stock exchange. They will be blank until that time.

You can add your favorite stocks to the watchlist to allow the scanners to populate.

ST_Turn Signals

The Turn Signals give you a heads up when the TTM_Squeeze histogram bars change color and when. There are no settings for this except to enable or disable alerts. You can also change the color of the arrows as you wish. Importing the indicator is the same as the importing instructions above. Pictures below show you what they look like:
