When you have finalised your application in Loanapp, you will get to the Submit Workflow.
The general steps of the submit workflow are:
finalise your application data and validate the application
generate your supporting docs checklist
(upload your supporting docs and satisfy checklist items)
And then submit your application
An optional step in the submit workflow is to "Request Supporting Docs" from your applicants.
When triggered, the "Request Supporting Docs" button will send out to your Applicants an email request for any supporting docs that are still required (ie any supporting docs that havent been satisfied on your checklist). Info Request is a great way for you to work with your customers on apps, via a secure digital portal.
The Request Supporting Docs button is in the submit workflow. It will only be enabled after you have generated your Supporting Docs Checklist. The idea is that you first review your checklist, upload any docs you have, and then request any remaining docs with the Request Supporting Docs functionality:
This will trigger Loanapp to generate "Info Requests" for your applicants, to request all the supporting docs that you have not yet gathered.
Depending on your lenders configuration, these info requests will go straight to the applicants as soon as you trigger the functionality; or take you to the Info Request page to review the requests and then send out.
Your applicant experience
When you trigger "Request Supporting Docs", Loanapp will send an email to any applicant that needs to send you some supporting docs. While the email content/design will depend on your lender, it will always include instructions for the applicant to 'click here' to login and review the requests:
When the applicant clicks 'here', they will be taken to a browser to finalise their login credentials. This is important as it means they will be able to securely upload documents back to your loanapp application:
Your applicant will then be able to login. Note that if you send them further info requests during the application process, they will go straight to this screen to login:
When your applicant logs in, they will be presented with the info requests that have been sent to them. Each applicant will only see the info requests that should be fulfilled by them (they won't see the other applicant requests). The number of requests will depend on the application, and also how many supporting docs are still required:
The applicant can then click on any of the requests to be able to see more detail, upload documents, add any comments they want to add, and submit back to you (your loanapp application):
Note that Info Requests can be reviewed and replied to on any device:
The applicant will upload the required document/s, add comment is they want to, and then press Submit:
They'll be then taken back to their list of Info Requests which they can continue to reply to. Any completed request will no longer be on the list.
Note that your applicant can close the browser at any time; and return to info requests by clicking on 'click here' in their email invite and logging back in.
What happens when documents are returned to you?
When an applicant submits an Info Request reply, you will get an email notification that an info request has been completed, and you can login to view the reply. Depending on your lenders configuration, the uploaded document will land in:
Info request, ready for review and then a final submit to supporting docs, attached to the requirement that generated the info request
OR, it will miss this step; and the document will land straight in supporting docs, attached to the requirement that generated the info request
If the lender has configured for Review in Info Requests:
If the lender has configured for Info Requests to be returned to the Info Request section, you will find the reply in Solutions/Application Processing/Info Requests:
The Info Reuqest that has been returned to you will be at the bottom of the list, with a "Replied" status:
If you click on this item, you will be able to review the request details, and see what has been returned by the applicant:
If you click on the PDF icon, you will be able to review the document that has been attached:
And if you are happy with it, you are able to then "accept and send to supporting docs":
The Info Request will then be 'Complete':
And if you go back to supporting docs, your document is already attached to the requirement:
If the lender has configured for Sending straight to supporting docs:
If the lender has configured for Info Requests to be returned straight back to supporting docs, you will not get the step to review and accept the document.
Instead, you will find the uploaded doc already in the Supporting Docs checklist, either sitting in the Documents Bucket, or already attached to the requirement.
