Guide to Using the Actions Menu (three dots or “triple dots”) found next to each product in your product listing.

Updated over 3 months ago

1. Accessing the Actions Menu

Step 1: Go to your Products section.

Step 2: Click the three dots (Actions Menu) next to any product to access various features.

2. Features in the Actions Menu

A. Edit

Purpose: The Edit option allows you to perform a full product edit, as if building the product from scratch.

What You Can Edit:

• Product mock-ups, colors, and design elements.

• Categories, names, and pricing details.

• Product status (published, draft, etc.).

Use Case: Ideal when you need to make comprehensive adjustments to a product’s appearance or configuration.

B. Quick Edit

Purpose: Use Quick Edit for fast changes to basic product details without going into the full edit mode.

Editable Fields:

• Product name, price, and margin (note: margin is in dollars, not percentage).

• Categories for quick reassignments.

Use Case: Best for quick adjustments, such as updating a category or price on the fly.

C. Product Companion

Purpose: The Product Companion feature allows you to associate related products to cross-sell or upsell.

How to Use:

• Select a main product and choose other products to associate with it (e.g., pairing a notebook with a pen).

• Save the association to display companion products on the product page.

Use Case: Great for linking related items like men’s and women’s versions of a product or promoting accessories alongside main products.

D. View Product

Purpose: Click View Product to see how your product looks on the storefront, providing a preview of the product’s landing page as seen by shoppers.

Use Case: Use this to verify that product images, descriptions, and associated items are displayed correctly.

E. Clone Product

Purpose: Clone Product duplicates an existing product, creating a new version that you can customize further without starting from scratch.

How to Use:

• Cloning saves the new product in draft mode to prevent accidental publication.

• Edit the cloned product to update details such as design, color options, and logos.

• Make sure to change the product name, as it will retain the original name by default.

Use Case: Ideal for creating variations of a product with different designs or configurations, saving time and maintaining consistency.

3. Tips for Efficient Product Management

Use Quick Edit for small changes to avoid the time-consuming process of full edits.

Leverage Product Companion to enhance cross-selling and upselling, improving the overall shopping experience and increasing average order value.

Cloning is your go-to tool for easily expanding your product lineup without redundant effort, especially when only minor changes are needed.

This guide will help you make the most of the Actions Menu, streamlining your product management processes and enhancing your store’s efficiency. Regularly explore these features to keep your product listings optimized and up-to-date.
