Who can see my recordings?

Wondering who can view your recordings? Here's the scoop

Written by Ethan Peterson-New

🔊 Shared

When you share a recording, anyone at your company who works with that conversation type can find it in the Shared tab, not just your own team. They can listen, comment and react. It can also come up in Ask Siro for anyone at your company.

Only your team is notified, and notifications are limited so they don’t pile up: you’ll get at most 2 shared-recording notifications a day, and only one per recording. A teammate may not get one even though they can still find the recording in the Shared tab.

🔗 Not Shared (Limited Access)

A recording you don’t share doesn’t appear in the Shared tab. Only you, your coach and your organization’s admins can open it. Other reps can’t, even with the link.

🔒 Want to Keep It Private?

No problem! Just mark the recording as "private" and it'll be visible to only you. No other team members or coaches can access the recording. Your coach and your organization's admins can still see that a private recording exists — in their Recordings list (web app or mobile app) it shows as a locked Private recording row with your name and the date. The row doesn't show the recording's title or contents, and they can't open it or play it. Note that this is stricter than simply not posting — marking a recording private also hides it from your coach. Need help making a recording private? Check out this article.

⚙️ Shared by default

Your organization admin decides whether new recordings on your team start as Shared or Limited access (Teams → your team → Recording Sharing). You can still change it for each recording when you save it. If you don’t see a share option at all, your organization has turned sharing off. Ask your admin.

👀 On Your Profile

Your manager and colleagues can also reach your recordings by visiting your profile from the leaderboard, or via search. As with the feed, who that includes follows the conversation type rather than team membership.

💡 Checking one specific recording

On the web app, open the recording and look at the access label near the top: Private (only you), Limited access (not shared — you, your coach and admins), or Shared. Hover it to see exactly who can find the recording in Recordings and in Ask Siro.
