Will Siro impact my battery?

Written by Ethan Peterson-New

Siro is designed to be power-efficient and should not drain more than 10% of your battery per hour when operating on its own.

đŸ“± One thing Siro does for you automatically: on iPhone, after about 20 seconds of inactivity during a recording, Siro dims your screen to roughly half brightness to save power — and brightens it again as soon as you touch it. It never dims during the first minute of a recording, and never while you're typing. Your original brightness comes back when the recording ends. (Android keeps full brightness for now.) The screen is usually the largest power draw during a long recording, so this is where most of the savings come from — if your display goes dim mid-appointment, that's Siro working as intended, and a tap brings it right back.

🔋 To help maintain optimal battery levels, we recommend the following:

  • Enable Battery Saver Mode: In the mobile app, open Settings and, under Recording, turn on Battery Saver Mode. You can set the battery level at which it turns on (20% by default). Siro also activates Battery Saver Mode automatically whenever your device enters Low Power Mode. Note: in this mode Siro refreshes data less often, so some screens may take a little longer to load.

  • Close Unused Background Apps: Free up resources by shutting down apps you're not actively using

  • Manage Connectivity in Low Signal Areas: If you're in an area with poor service, consider turning off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to prevent your phone from constantly searching for a connection

By following these tips, you can help extend your device's battery life while using Siro.
