Overview
Temperature monitoring is a crucial feature for many businesses that require precise monitoring of their shipments. Visibility offers temperature tracking capabilities, allowing carriers and customers to seamlessly integrate temperature data into their logistics operations. This article provides an overview of how temperature data is integrated, displayed, and managed within the Visibility.
Temperature Monitoring Features
Automatic Display
Once temperature data is available, it automatically appears in the Visibility. This feature requires no manual activation, ensuring that temperature-monitored transports are displayed efficiently. The temperature data is shown for all compartments, along with the temperature development over time.
Unit Conversion
For users needing to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, the Visibility offers a simple solution. By changing the language selection to English US, the temperature unit will automatically convert to Fahrenheit. Any other available language selection will display temperatures in Celsius.
Integration Options
1. Fleet Management System (FMS) Integration
The most seamless method for integrating temperature data is through a carrier's existing Fleet Management System (FMS). This integration requires:
A compatible FMS provider that supports temperature data transmission.
Standard carrier FMS integration through the Visibility Onboarding process.
No additional configuration needed, as temperature data appears automatically.
2. In-House System Integration
Carriers with both vehicle position and temperature data available in their Transport Management System (TMS) or other in-house systems can opt for in-house integration. This method involves:
Data transmission via standardized Transporeon carrier interfaces.
API-based integration for automated data sharing.
Getting Temperature Data into the System
To fetch temperature data, integration with our API is available. This allows for efficient and automated data transmission, ensuring that temperature monitoring is accurate and up-to-date.

Conclusion
Temperature monitoring within the Visibility is designed to be user-friendly and efficient, providing carriers and customers with the tools they need to monitor their shipments effectively. Whether through FMS or in-house system integration, Visibility offers flexible options to suit various operational needs. For shippers requiring temperature monitoring, collaboration with carriers to explore integration options is recommended.
