Using Wildcard Search to Find Transports

Finding specific transport identifiers can be a challenge when you only have partial information. To make this easier, our system supports Wildcard Searching using the percent symbol (%) as a placeholder for unknown characters.

How to Use the Wildcard

The wildcard symbol tells the system to "fill in the blanks." Depending on where you place the %, you can change how the system filters your results.

1. Find Matches by the End of a Value

If you only know the last few digits of a transport identifier, place the % at the beginning of your search term.

  • Example: Searching for %7445

  • Result: The system will return all transport numbers that end in 7445, regardless of what numbers or letters come before them.

2. Find Matches Within a String (Middle Search)

If you have a partial number that might be hidden in the middle of a long, complex ID, place the % at both ends of your search term.

  • Example: Searching for %8139538%

  • Result: The system will locate the transport even if the full ID is a complex string, such as 015_8139538_CUS_20260127.

Note: These search rules apply across all parameters simultaneously for a broad results set, or you can select a specific parameter to narrow your search
