Alternative Identifiers (Alt IDs) help both Shippers and Carriers prevent allocation failures when the identifier used in a transport (for example a trailer number, truck number, or fleet ID) does not match the integrated license plate format.
Carriers can add up to 3 Alt IDs per vehicle in Vehicle Management, which allows Visibility to:
Recognize internal IDs: Match allocations and lookups using the Alt ID your team uses day to day.
Map to the correct vehicle: Automatically connect the Alt ID to the underlying integrated license plate record.
Reduce manual work: Avoid troubleshooting and workarounds caused by formatting differences and mismatches.
Ready to start? Ask your carriers to add the IDs you allocate with (or add them to your fleet if you are the asset owner).
