Get notified when tracking has not started by the planned timeslot start or end time.

The When tracking did not start notification helps you identify road transports that remain untracked when tracking is expected to be available.

Use this rule to react earlier, contact the carrier or responsible team to take an action, and reduce the risk of missing visibility during execution.

When to use this notification

Use this notification when you want to:

  • monitor road transports where tracking has not started on time;

  • inform carriers before the lack of tracking affects operations;

  • focus on transports that are waiting or not yet allocated;

  • reduce manual checking of planned transports before pickup or delivery.

Available for

This notification type is available for Road transports.

It can be created across multiple transports from the Notification rules section, or for a specific road transport from the transport detail view.

How the trigger works

You can choose when the system should check whether tracking has started:

  • Timeslot start time: notify if tracking has not started by the beginning of the planned timeslot of a first stop.

  • Timeslot end time: notify if tracking has not started by the end of the planned timeslot of a first stop.

For notification rules across multiple transports, this rule is designed for transports that are still upcoming or untracked.

Recipients

You can add transport-level recipients by email or SMS. For each recipient, you can select the notification language.

Stop-level recipients are not available for this notification type.

How to set it up

  1. Open Notification rules from the side menu.

  2. Select Add notification rule.

  3. Choose Road as the transport mode.

  4. Select When tracking did not start as the notification type.

  5. Choose whether tracking should have started by the timeslot start time or timeslot end time.

  6. Add optional custom filters, for example carrier, customer, site, user, or stops.

  7. Add one or more recipients.

  8. Add a rule name.

  9. Save the rule.

Example

A planner wants to monitor all road transports that should have started tracking by the planned loading timeslot. They create a notification rule with:

  • notification type: When tracking did not start;

  • trigger: Timeslot start time;

  • optional filter: selected carrier or site;

  • recipient: planner team email address.

If tracking has not started by the selected timeslot point, the team receives a notification and can follow up with the carrier.

Good to know

This rule helps identify missing tracking early, but it does not start tracking itself. The transport still needs valid tracking data, allocation, or tracking events according to your transport setup.

Use filters to keep the rule focused on transports where action is expected from your team.
