The When tracking is cancelled notification helps you react when tracking for a road transport cannot continue or has failed for a selected reason.

Use this rule to make cancelled tracking visible quickly, so the responsible team can check the cause and decide what to do next.

You can find a detailed breakdown of our tracking cancellation reasons in this article: Tracking cancelled reasons

When to use this notification

Use this notification when you want to:

  • know when tracking is cancelled;

  • monitor selected cancellation reasons;

  • follow up on missing telemetry, missing allocation, bad transport data, or sharing issues;

  • reduce manual checking of failed or cancelled transports.

Available for

This notification type is available for Road transports.

It can be created across multiple transports from the Notification rules section, or for a specific road transport from the transport detail view.

How the trigger works

You select one or more cancelled tracking reasons. The notification is sent when a matching road transport is cancelled for one of the selected reasons.

Examples of selectable cancellation reasons include:

  • aborted tracking;

  • missing telemetry;

  • bad telemetry with no movement;

  • carrier not registered;

  • missing stop geocoding;

  • missing stop timeslot;

  • data sharing issue;

  • no vehicle allocated;

  • tractor switch not detected;

  • insufficient allocation;

  • bad transport data.

For notification rules across multiple transports, this rule is designed for cancelled road transports and can be narrowed down with additional custom filters.

Recipients

You can add transport-level recipients by email or SMS. For each recipient, you can select the notification language.

Stop-level recipients are not available for this notification type.

How to set it up

  1. Open Notification rules from the side menu.

  2. Select Add notification rule.

  3. Choose Road as the transport mode.

  4. Select When tracking is cancelled as the notification type.

  5. Choose one or more cancelled tracking reasons.

  6. Add optional custom filters, for example carrier, customer, site, user, or stops.

  7. Add one or more recipients.

  8. Add a rule name.

  9. Save the rule.

Example

A carrier management team wants to know when tracking is cancelled because no missing transport data or telemetry is missing.

They create a notification rule with:

  • notification type: When tracking is cancelled;

  • cancelled tracking reasons: missing stop timeslot and missing telemetry;

  • optional filter: selected carrier;

  • recipient: carrier management team email address.

When a matching transport is cancelled for one of these reasons, the team receives a notification and can follow up.

Good to know

This notification helps you identify failed tracking, but it does not resolve the underlying cause. The next action depends on the cancellation reason and your operational process.

Use focused cancellation reasons to make sure notifications are actionable for the selected recipients.
