Archive carriers

Use Archive to hide carriers that you no longer actively work with, without deleting the relationship. Archived carriers are moved out of your active Carrier Network and can be restored later. If a carrier becomes active at a later point while being archived, there is no need to invite them from scratch. Simply restore them to your active views.

When to archive a carrier

Archive a carrier when the carrier is already connected to your company, but is no longer relevant for day-to-day visibility work.

You can archive carriers with these onboarding statuses:

  • Registered

  • Visibility source pending

  • Onboarded

You cannot archive carriers with these onboarding statuses:

  • Not invited — use Delete instead.

  • Invited — use Withdraw & Delete instead.

What happens when you archive a carrier

Archiving a carrier applies at the company level, meaning it affects all colleagues and users in your company. When you archive a carrier:

  • The carrier is removed from the main Carrier Network view.

  • The carrier is removed from any groups it belongs to.

  • Carrier Network reports exclude the carrier by default.

  • The carrier appears in the Archive section.

  • The relationship is preserved, so the carrier can be restored later.

Archiving a carrier does not delete the carrier relationship, an invitation sent to them, change data-sharing consent, or stop tracking if they have been assigned to a transport. It only hides the carrier from your active Carrier Network view.

Since it does not have any other operational effect, no information is sent to them about being archived.

  2. Go to Carrier Network.

  3. Find the carrier you want to archive.

  4. Open the Actions menu for that specific carrier.

Archived carriers are listed in the Archive section of Carrier Network.

From the Archive section, you can:

  • Search, sort, and review archived carriers.

  • Open an archived carrier’s side panel.

  • Download an Excel file with archived carriers.

  • Restore one or more archived carriers.

Some actions are not available in the Archive section. For example, you cannot invite carriers from Archive i.e. the Invite carriers button is disabled.

Restore a carrier when you want to include it in your active Carrier Network again.

  3. Open the Actions menu for that specific carrier.

Restore multiple carriers

  1. Open the Archive section.

  2. Select one or more carriers.

  3. In the floating action bar, click Restore.

  4. Review the confirmation message.

  5. Click Restore to confirm.

The selected carriers are restored to your active Carrier Network and to any groups they belong to.

What happens to groups

If an archived carrier belonged to one or more groups, it is hidden from those groups while archived.

When you restore the carrier, it returns to the groups it belonged to before being archived.

Example:

  • A carrier belongs to Group A and Group B.

  • You archive the carrier.

  • The carrier disappears from Carrier Network, Group A, and Group B.

  • You restore the carrier.

  • The carrier appears again in Carrier Network, Group A, and Group B.

If a group is deleted while the carrier is archived, the carrier cannot return to that deleted group. When restored, it returns only to the groups that still exist.

Reports and statistics

Carrier Network reports and statistics focus on active carriers by default.

This means:

  • The main Carrier Network report excludes archived carriers.

  • Group reports exclude archived carriers.

Note: Archived carriers are still included in the onboarding status progress because this compares two selected dates. Carriers archived now cannot be removed from past-date calculations.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not delete a carrier?

Deleting a carrier is only possible when no relation exists between your company and that carrier, i.e. they are in "not invited" or "invited" state. Once a carrier is connected, deletion is blocked so your network history and relationships stay consistent and traceable.

Is archiving the same as deleting?

No. Deleting removes a carrier that is still in the invite pipeline. Archiving hides an already-related carrier from active views while keeping the relationship, so you don't lose the connection and can pick things back up later without starting from scratch.

Is the carrier informed about being archived?

No. Archiving will only hide a carrier from your active views, but keeps the relation with your company, the tracking, and the data-sharing consent intact.

Can I archive carriers from a group?

No. Archiving is only available from the main Carrier Network section.

Can I restore a carrier later?

Yes. Open the Archive section and select Restore.

Will restored carriers return to their groups?

Besides moving back to the main Carrier Network view, restored carriers will also return to their groups, as long as those groups still exist.
