This guide walks through it using a reading or dosage alert as the example.
Reading Alerts tell you when the water is off.
Dosage Alerts tell you when a tech used an unusual amount of product, which protects both your water chemistry and your margin.
Step 1: Open Office Alerts, then Readings & Dosages
Head to Settings > Office Alerts, then open the Readings & Dosages section.
The exact section you start in changes depending on the alert (readings and dosages live in their own spot), but the flow is always the same: pick what to watch, set your threshold, choose how it reaches you.
Step 2: Click "+ Add" Next to the Alert You Want to Create
You'll see four rows:
Reading was too high or too low
Dosage was too high or too low
Reading increased or decreased by too much
Dosage increased or decreased by too much
The first two are fixed thresholds (a hard number). The last two watch for a big swing between visits.
Pick the row that fits what you are trying to monitor and click + Add. The steps below use a reading as the example, but a dosage works the same way.
Step 3: Select Your Type From the Dropdown
For a reading, pick the reading (Free Chlorine, pH, and so on).
For a dosage, pick the product (Tabs, Shock, Liquid Chlorine, and so on).
Step 4: Set Your Condition
Choose the condition that triggers the alert (for example, Lower Than or Higher Than).
Step 5: Select Your Value (the Threshold)
This is the number that triggers the alert. Set it outside your normal range, not at the edge of it. The threshold is where you want a phone call, not where the water is slightly off.
If you alert too tight, you'll drown in pings and turn the feature off.
Step 6: Set Your Delivery and Save
Decide how this alert reaches you using the Alert Controls:
Show in Panel: the alert lands in your office bell icon when the reading syncs.
Send Email: sends an email to your staff. Be selective, turning email on for everything fills inboxes.
Urgent: flags the alert as high priority in the panel.
Two layers control where emails go:
Global Send Alerts To is your company-wide list, set once under Settings > General. It receives every alert switched to email.
Additional Staff Emails for this Alert sends this one alert to extra people on top of that list.
Click Apply to save your alert.
