A fresh new look for Messages

Everything you need to know about our redesigned Messages experience

Written by Emma

We've redesigned Messages to give you a cleaner, more spacious view for reading and writing messages. Here's what's changed:

Full screen, not a flyout

Messages used to open as a small flyout window. Now it opens full screen, giving you much more room to read through message history and write your own.

Emojis are here 🎉

You can now add emojis to your messages. Great for reactions, quick acknowledgements, or just adding some personality to a conversation.

Better file attachments

File attachments within messages now display more clearly, making it easier to see and open what's been shared.

Messaging shortcut removed from the Scheduler

The Scheduler previously contained a shortcut to start a message with a worker. That's no longer there - simply click on Messages to start a chat.

Message worker option removed

Subject lines

Messaging previously let you enter a subject when creating a message on the desktop app. This has been removed — the message list now shows the sender/participant names instead.

If you'd like to name a thread yourself, use the Rename conversation option, which will replace the participant names in the message list.
