Searching For Data

Can I add layers from my ArcGIS Online account?

Yes, on Content Store, you have the option to upload layers from your ArcGIS Online account. To learn how to add layers, please refer to the support article Adding Area of Interests on Content Store.

What layers can I upload onto Content Store?

You can upload GeoJSON, shapefiles, and CSV files to Content Store. Shapefiles must be uploaded as a zip folder containing the .cpg, .dbf, .prj, .shp, and .shx files.

No archive images returned from my search. What does this mean?

If no archive images are returned from your search, it means that no images were captured by our suppliers within the date range you set.

It is recommended to increase your date range and/or size of your area of interest to expand your search.

If no archive images are returned after making these adjustments, you will need to place a tasking order. To learn how to place a tasking order, please refer to our support article How to Place Tasking Orders on Content Store.

What are the size limitations for layers?

  • The minimum size for any layer is 1 km2.

  • The maximum size for a layer for high resolution imagery is 500 km2.

  • The maximum size for a layer for very-high and very high HD resolution imagery is 150 km2.

I am receiving an "Invalid Polygon Geometry" error. What does this mean?

The "invalid polygon geometry" error is caused by one of the following issues:

  1. Multiple Holes: If your layer contains multiple holes or doughnut shapes, searching and ordering will not be available.

  2. Self-Intersecting Polygon: Content Store does not accept self-intersecting polygons.

  3. Multi-Feature/Type Polygon: Multi-feature or multi-type polygons are not supported on Content Store. Create or upload a new layer that is not saved as a multi-feature polygon.

  4. Exceeding Vertex Limit: Layers with more than 500 vertices are not supported on Content Store. Create a layer with fewer than 500 vertices. The recommended number is up to 200 vertices.

How Do I Search For Archive Satellite Imagery on Content Store?

To search for available archive imagery, we recommend reviewing our support article How to Place an Archive Order on Content Store.

How do I sort my results?

When your search is complete and all available products are returned, you have the option to sort the results based off the following parameters: Date (Image capture date & time; most recent to oldest), Total Price (cost of the image; highest to lowest cost), Resolution (pixel resolution of the imagery; from highest to lowest), Price per km2 (ordered from highest $ per km2), and Cloud Coverage (highest to lowest cloud cover percentage).

Ordering

Can I order more than one image?

You can add multiple data products to your cart before purchasing. Each product will be delivered as a separate order, each with a unique order ID.

How long does it take for an archive order to complete?

The delivery time for an archive image depends on the size of your area of interest (in km²), source, and resolution.

The average delivery times of each source can be found in our support article How Long Does it Take For Content Store Orders to Complete?

Do I need a credit card to place an order?

A credit card is required to submit orders. If you do not have a credit card on file, Content Store will prompt you to add one before completing your order.
