As of January 1, 2018, the hourly rate for users paying $25 per hour is going up 16%, from $25 to $30 per hour.

We really value you, and we know that no one loves rate increases — so we want to let you know why we’ve made this choice.

Why are we doing this?

The minimum wage is set to increase on January 1 by 20%, from $11 to $13 per hour. With few exceptions, almost every employer in New York will pay more and hourly workers will earn more.

We are committed to paying Keepers good, fair wages so they can earn a living for their hard work and create a secure future for themselves and their families.

That’s why the rate increase will go directly to your Keeper.

In addition to increasing your Keeper’s take-home pay, we’re launching a Holistic Wellness Program that provides them with periodic counseling from a wellness consultant at the Grameen Vida Sana clinic. Whether it’s help with financial education, healthcare advice, or just general well-being, Slate Keepers will have the necessary support to thrive.

We believe that the better we take care of our Keepers, the better they will take care of your home.

We want you to know...

We made this decision with a lot of thought and care. It’s important to us to make sure we’re offering you the best service, experience, and rates among competitive companies. So we crunched the numbers and can confirm that our new hourly rates are still equal to or lower than MyClean, Fairy, and Handy.

What's not changing?

The trust and support fee — the part of your payment that covers insurance, support, and ongoing management for your Keeper — stays the same.

What’s getting even better?

Not only will your Keeper have better purchasing power and more financial security, but we are also amping up our investment in improving your experience. We are committed to making your life easier by enhancing and streamlining our app and processes.

What’s next?

You don’t need to take any action to continue using Slate! Simply note that your rate will increase as of January 1, 2018.
