How to use the Single choice interactive element when creating content

Updated over 5 months ago

The Smart Arena platform offers a powerful Authoring Tool designed to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences. Among its standout features are the interactive elements, which enable course creators to enhance user engagement and interactivity within their content. These elements allow for creative ways to present information, assess learning progress, and encourage participation.

The Single-choice interactive add-on in Smart Arena is perfect for creating focused assessment questions with one correct answer, helping to ensure learners understand essential information.

1. Add a question

In the Question section, drag and drop basic elements into the designated area or type directly to enter the question text.

2. Set up answer options

  • For each answer option, type the text into the Answer text box. This could be a possible answer to the question. Make sure you check the box when the answer is correct.

Only one option should be marked as correct in a single-choice question.

  • Below the answer text, there is an Explanation field. Use this space to provide feedback or an explanation that learners will see after they select that answer. It will be displayed no matter if the answer was correct or incorrect.

With the Explanation field, immediate feedback is provided, reinforcing correct answers or clarifying misconceptions. This add-on is also valuable for measuring learners' progress and readiness to advance, making it a practical tool for quizzes, assessments, and knowledge checks in various subjects.

  • If you need more answer choices, click Add answers to create additional fields for other options. Enter each option as described above and mark the correct answer.

3. Once you have added all the answer options and marked the correct answer, click Save to store your question.

Example

This is what a correctly answered Single choice question looks like. On the left side we can see the question and the possible answers, and on the right side the explanation is written out once the learner checks their answer at the bottom.

If the question is answered incorrectly, the form stays the same, but the learner is notified of the incorrect answer.
