The Smart Arena platform offers a powerful Authoring Tool designed to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences. Among its standout features are the interactive elements, which enable course creators to enhance user engagement and interactivity within their content. These elements allow for creative ways to present information, assess learning progress, and encourage participation.
The Fill in Dropdown interactive add-on in Smart Arena allows you to create questions where learners can choose the correct answer from a dropdown list, providing a clean and structured way to assess knowledge.
1. Set up the question
In the question field, drag basic elements into the text box or type directly to frame the question. The question should prompt learners to select an answer from a dropdown list.
2. Define dropdown choices
Add the choices for the dropdown by clicking Add answers. This will create fields where you can enter multiple answer options. Type each answer choice in the Answer text field.
3. Select the correct answer
Identify the correct answer by checking the Is correct box next to the appropriate choice. This marks it as the answer that will yield a correct response.
4. Once all choices are entered, and the correct answer is set, click Save to add the question to the assessment.
The Fill in dropdown add-on is especially useful for assessments requiring concise input without cluttering the page with numerous options. It’s ideal for questions with many possible answers, where displaying all of them might overwhelm or distract learners. By keeping answers in a dropdown format, the course remains visually clean and organized, enhancing the user experience.
Example
This type of question is effective for grammar exercises, vocabulary tests, or scenarios where learners need to pick the correct term or concept from a list.
