How to use the Slider interactive element when creating content

Updated over 5 months ago

The Smart Arena platform offers a powerful Authoring Tool designed to create engaging and dynamic learning experiences. Among its standout features are the interactive elements, which enable course creators to enhance user engagement and interactivity within their content. These elements allow for creative ways to present information, assess learning progress, and encourage participation.

The Slider interactive element in Smart Arena allows you to create dynamic, image-based slideshows that can incorporate text or speech/thought bubbles, providing a visually engaging way to present content in an e-course.

1. Add slides

To begin creating your slider, upload images by clicking the upload area under the Images section. Each uploaded image will become an individual slide in the slider. You can adjust the slide dimensions by selecting a ratio from the options available (21:9, 16:9, or 4:3) to ensure your images fit appropriately in the slider view.

2. Add content fields and bubbles

For each slide, you can overlay text elements such as Field for content for informational text, Speech bubble to simulate conversation, or Thought bubble to add reflective thoughts or internal dialogue. Click on any of these options to place the text fields on your slides and edit the text as needed.

3. Set slide delay and transition

In the bottom-right corner, you can customize the Delay (the time each slide remains visible) and Transition type (the animation between slides) to add smooth, engaging transitions.

4. Once you have added all desired images and text elements, save the slider and preview it to ensure that the timing, transitions, and content placement meet your expectations.

The Slider feature is beneficial for presenting information in a step-by-step or sequential manner, ideal for storytelling, showcasing processes, or highlighting different aspects of a topic.

Incorporating visual and textual elements helps retain learners’ attention, promotes better information retention, and enhances the overall learning experience.
