The Notifications tab in the Organization Management section of Smart Arena allows administrators to create and manage custom notifications for users. It allows administrators to tailor communication to meet specific organizational needs. By creating and managing custom notifications, they can ensure that users receive relevant updates and alerts. This improves user engagement, streamlines communication, and supports efficient operations within the platform.
Follow these steps to set up or modify notifications:
Access the Notifications Tab: Navigate to Organization Management in the left-hand menu. Select Notifications from the submenu.
Create a New Notification
1. Click the blue New Notification button to start creating a new notification.
2. Configure Notification Details in the popup form:
Notification Type: Use the dropdown menu to select the type of notification you need.
Language: Choose the desired language for the notification from the dropdown menu.
Subject: Enter a short and clear subject line for the notification, make it as general or as detailed as you wish.
Notification Parameters and Placeholders: Depending on which notification type you select, useful placeholders and parameters will appear on the right for you to choose from (such as course title, course start date, course end date, and course details link) Use them to insert important details. This ensures the right details will be inserted into the text of the notification each time, it will be sent.
Example:
"The course {course_title} has a schedule change from {start_date} to {end_date}."
This ensures the notification dynamically adapts to any course where the message is applied. The placeholders ensure critical information such as dates, titles, and others will always be in relation to the course they sent for.
3. Compose the Notification Message
Under Notification Message, add a Title for the notification.
In the Write Body section, use the rich text editor to write the main content of the notification. You can format the text, insert links, and ensure clarity.
4. Once all details are entered, click Save to store the notification. After you save it, the notification will be added to the notification list.
Managing Notifications
In the notifications table, you can see all previously created notifications. Under the Actions column, you can edit or delete notifications as needed.
Custom notifications are designed to be reused for all courses requiring the same type of announcement. They are not tied to a single specific course but are applied to any course where the same type of message is needed.
If you do not want the custom notification to be applied to course notifications any longer, you can delete it by clicking the Remove button on the right in the Actions column. In this case, the default notification will be sent instead.
