SmarterProctoring is built into your school’s Learning Management System (LMS), so you’ll always access it through your course—not through any separate website.
Step 1: Access Through Your LMS
Log in to your LMS (such as Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, etc.).
Navigate to your course.
Click on the SmarterProctoring link or tool within the course.
Not sure where to find it? Ask your instructor or a school administrator.
Step 2: Set Up Your Profile
The first time you access SmarterProctoring, you’ll be prompted to create your profile. This step is required before viewing or scheduling exams.
Here’s what you’ll need to provide:
First and Last Name
Preferred Email Address (Use your school email if possible)
Time Zone (Select a nearby major city like Chicago for Central Time or New York for Eastern Time)
Default Currency
Location (This is especially important if you’ll be using face-to-face proctoring options)
Step 3: Troubleshooting Tips
Make sure you’re accessing SmarterProctoring from your course—not from an external link or search engine.
If you see a blank white screen, look for an 👁️ eyeball icon in your browser's URL bar and allow cookies.
Step 4: View Your Exam Dashboard
Once your profile is complete, you’ll see your Exam Dashboard, where you can schedule or start exams based on your instructor’s setup.
