SmartWiz CRM + TaxWise Software FAQ

1. What is SmartWiz CRM, and how does it integrate with TaxWise Software?

  • SmartWiz CRM is a customer relationship management (CRM) platform designed to streamline your tax preparation processes, manage client data, and enhance customer service. It integrates seamlessly with TaxWise Software, which is used for tax return filing. This integration allows you to handle both client data management and tax filing in a single platform.

2. What permissions do I get when I sign up for SmartWiz CRM?

  • When you sign up for SmartWiz CRM, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the SmartWiz platform for the purpose of managing your clients' tax preparation data. You also get access to TaxWise Software to file tax returns, but only for your clients and within the defined territory (usually within the U.S.).

3. Who can access the platform on my behalf?

  • The platform is accessible to Authorized Users, which includes you and your employees or contractors who are involved in tax preparation. Only users designated as Authorized Users by the Licensee (you or your company) are allowed to use the platform.

4. What kind of personal and client data does SmartWiz CRM handle?

  • SmartWiz CRM handles all data required for tax preparation and filing, including:

    • Personal information (e.g., names, contact details).

    • Financial information (e.g., income, deductions, credits).

    • This data is securely stored and managed according to industry standards and applicable laws, ensuring client privacy and data security.

5. What data security measures are in place?

  • SmartWiz CRM and TaxWise Software employ advanced security measures to protect your data:

    • Access control to ensure only Authorized Users can access sensitive information.

6. How is my data protected in case of a breach?

  • In the event of a data breach, SmartWiz will immediately notify you and work with you to remedy the situation. They will also comply with all relevant data breach laws and take steps to prevent further unauthorized access.

7. What data can SmartWiz and TaxWise access?

  • The platform administrators (SmartWiz) may collect usage data to improve the software’s performance and to enforce the terms of the license. However, they are bound by confidentiality agreements and must comply with data protection laws, ensuring that client data is not misused.

8. What happens to my data if I stop using the platform?

  • Upon termination or expiration of your license, you must stop using the platform, and all access will be revoked. You are required to erase all data related to SmartWiz and TaxWise from your systems, and you will need to certify that this has been done. SmartWiz CRM will no longer process any data on your behalf.

9. Can I use my own branding on SmartWiz CRM?

  • Yes, SmartWiz CRM offers white-label branding, meaning you can incorporate your own company name and logo into the platform. However, the branding must comply with SmartWiz's ethical standards and guidelines.

10. How often is the software updated?

  • SmartWiz CRM and TaxWise Software receive regular updates to improve functionality, security, and compliance with new tax laws. As a user, you will have access to these updates as part of your license agreement.

12. What are my responsibilities as a user?

    • Using the software in accordance with tax laws and the platform's terms of service.

    • Reporting any unauthorized access or data breaches to SmartWiz CRM immediately.

13. What if I need more integrations?
