To enter unreimbursed medical expenses for tax deductions, follow these guidelines:

  1. To add unreimbursed medical expenses, link the Schedule A detail by clicking the gray triangle to begin the process.

  2. Click the paperclip icon to attach supporting details or forms.

  3. Click New.

  4. Click on A Detail - Itemized Deduction Detail Worksheet.

  5. Medical mileage is entered here.

  6. Unreimbursed medical expenses are reported here.

  7. Example shown here.

  8. Charitable miles can be entered in the Gifts to Charity section under mileage.

  9. Cash contributions to organizations with a 60% of AGI limit are reported in the Gifts to Charity section under cash contributions.

  10. Follow the same process to report contributions to other percentage limit organizations, as applicable.

Ensure you itemize deductions on Schedule A instead of taking the standard deduction.
