Your Tax, Simplified
“If you qualify, you may opt to have the IRS figure your tax and certain credits on Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR.”1
The IRS offers a streamlined way to claim refunds or credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit or Credit for the Elderly or Disabled—even if you’re not required to file a tax return. Simply submit your Form 1040 or Form 1040-SR (designed for seniors 65+ with larger print and a built-in standard deduction table)2, and we’ll handle the math.
What Happens Next?
After we calculate your tax:
Overpaid? You’ll receive a refund.
Underpaid? You’ll get a bill. Pay by the later of:
30 days after the bill date
The original return due date
to avoid interest and penalties1.
⚠️ Note: Underpayment of estimated taxes may still incur penalties. Learn more in Topic No. 306.
