Cash Management Application (CMA) Overview
The Cash Management Application (CMA) tool is meant to capture all withdrawals and deposits in an account. You can use this tool for automatic liquidations for periodic distributions. This tool can also be used for dollar cost averaging your contributions in an account. The CMA tool can be accessed via the Navigation Menu under Accounts. When accessed, a new tab will open. You will see a list of any active or inactive schedules, history of transactions, and a calendar to view past, current, and upcoming transactions. You can use the filter box to search specific account numbers, account names or schedule names.
Schedules
Under the Schedules tab, you will see a list of accounts with processing and pending requests. To include any canceled or completed requests, uncheck the "Show active schedules only” check box (as shown above). Please see below for the meaning of each status under Schedules.
There are four different Schedule statuses, Pending, Processing, Complete, and Canceled.
History
Under the History tab, you will see a list of accounts that have been completed or failed. See below for the meaning of each status under History.
Calendar
Under the Calendar tab, you will see requests that have been initiated for a specific day indicated by dark blue boxes surrounding the date.
When you click on a day in a month, a new window will pop up; it will list the accounts processed that day or scheduled for that day, if looking at a future date. You can use the filter box to search specific account numbers, account names or schedule names.
Deposit and Withdrawals
The Cash Management tool offers different methods to allow you to customize how you want liquidations and deposits to be processed. The four methods are: Rebalancer, Pro Rata, Equal Weight or Custom.
Rebalancer - Looks at target weights and distributes or withdraws funds to match your target. If no target is assigned, the auto rebalance will liquidate all holdings.
Pro-Rata - Distributes or withdraws proportionally based on the current allocation weights.
Equal Weight - Distributes or withdraws across all sleeves equally.
Custom - Distributes or withdraws funds where you enter a dollar amount.
🚧Caution: If "Rebalancer" is used on an account without a target assigned, the user will be required to acknowledge via a checkbox, that the account does not have a target assigned and it will be liquidated.
Withdrawal and deposit requests entered using the CMA tool will be captured using a funding sleeve; a funding sleeve acts like a cash buffer and is un-investable cash. A value within a funding sleeve in an account will be the dollar amount that stays in cash, no matter what your target is and what trade transactions occur in the account.
Creating a Deposit or Withdrawal
To initiate a new transaction or schedule, click the “Create New Deposit / Withdrawal” button.
In Account detail, you can search by account number and select the desired account from the drop down. If only a one-time withdrawal or deposit, select continue. To select a future date or create a recurring schedule, click the toggle icon. This will generate more options and details for your review. If the “Future or Recurring” icon is toggled, you must enter a first transfer date that is in the future.
You will also have the ability to select the cadence of the cash movement. Clicking the dropdown will provide you with a variety of selections, or you can choose to apply a Custom cadence.
If you select “Custom,” a new pop up will appear where you can customize the frequency of the scheduled transactions.
Once a frequency is selected, you will be required to enter a “Schedule Name” to be referenced later on the “Schedules” page. Next, enter an End Date to the Schedule. The End Date field can be left blank, and the schedule will run until canceled. Click “Continue” to select the transaction type and amount.
Next, transaction details are entered. Select the Transaction Type/Method, Direction of money, and the Amount. After entering the amount, as you toggle between the different Transaction Types, you will see the potential trades that would generate by selecting that specific type.
A preview of the CMA schedule will be shown. Select “Create” to create the schedule.
Editing a Cash Management Schedule
To edit the parameters on a previously created Cash Management Schedule, click on the Details link on the Schedules page.
A new screen will load with the Schedule details. You can edit the First Transfer Date, the Frequency, the End Date, and the Name for the schedule. The amount, and transaction type cannot be edited after the initial creation. After making a change to any of these details, click the green check mark to update the schedule.
Canceling a Cash Management Schedule
To cancel a previously created schedule, click on the Details link on the Schedules page. Scroll down to the bottom and click “Cancel”.
📘Please note - Canceling a schedule only cancels future occurrences of that schedule. Same Day transactions will not be cancelled.
