To ensure that pictures in a Word document don't move when the document is generated or edited, you need to set the pictures to have a fixed position. Here's how you can do that:

  1. Insert the Picture :

    • First, insert the picture into your Word document by going to the Insert tab and choosing Pictures .

  2. Select the Picture :

    • Click on the inserted picture to select it.

  3. Access Layout Options :

    • Once the picture is selected, a small icon (Layout Options) typically appears next to it. Click on this icon.

    • Alternatively, you can go to the Format tab (under Picture Tools ) and select Wrap Text.

  4. Set Text Wrapping :

    • Choose a text wrapping option that suits your document layout. Common choices for fixed positioning include:

      • Behind Text or In Front of Text: This allows the picture to be independent of the text flow.

      • Tight or Square: This wraps the text around the picture but allows the picture to remain in a fixed position relative to the page content.

  5. Fix the Position on Page :

    • After setting the text wrapping style, you will get the option to move with text or fix the position on page in the same opened window.

    • Choose 'fix position on page' and save the document.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your images remain in a fixed location and do not shift around when the document is edited or generated by a system. This is particularly useful for maintaining consistent document layouts.
