Note: The amount of Cue™ settings available will depend on the type of Cue™ used.

Once a Cue™ has been added to the timeline various settings need to be applied:

Add item to Cue™

Multiple items can be added to a Cue™ (which is added directly onto the canvas) namely menu items, buttons, titles, labels, timers and images. More than one can be added and each serves a specific purpose.

Note: Remember to add an action to the item if it should lead the participant somewhere upon selection.

Quiz or Poll

Note: This section only applies to question-type Cues™ such as Multiple Choice, Yes or No, Rating, and Ranking.

Question-type Cues™ can be formatted in two distinct styles: Quiz or Poll. The platform defaults to the Quiz format. The primary distinction lies in the nature of responses: quizzes are designed with definitive right and wrong answers, reflecting knowledge or fact-based queries, while polls cater to gathering opinions or preferences, lacking predefined correct answers.

For detailed instructions on enabling and customizing feedback, please refer to the Feedback section provided below.

Start and End Behaviours

The Start Behaviour determines what happens when the start of the Cue™ is reached, and in turn, the End Behaviour determines what happens when the end of the Cue™ is reached.

Note: The selection of the Start Behaviour determines the available choices for the End Behaviour.

Start Behaviour

Participants can experience the following start behaviours when engaging with the Snak™:

  1. Pause: The Snak™ remains on hold until the participant decides to proceed, such as by pressing a button. This setting ensures the Snak™ does not advance without user interaction.

  2. Timer: This option introduces a pause in the Snak™ for a predetermined amount of time, awaiting participant continuation. Selecting this will reveal an "Answer Time" field and an "Add Timeout Message" toggle. Initially, the timer is set for 10 seconds, accompanied by a default "Hurry up!" message, both of which are customizable to suit your needs.

  3. Continue: With this selection, the Snak™ flows smoothly through Cue™ and media content, moving forward automatically at the start of the Cue™. An "Add Timeout Message" toggle will also become available in this mode.

Note: "Pause" is the default selection for Start Behavior, aiming to provide a controlled start to the Snak™ experience.

End Behaviour

At the conclusion of a Cue™, participants can encounter one of the following end behaviors in the Snak™:

  1. Continue: The Snak™ will continue through the Cue™ and media uninterrupted when the end of the Cue™ is reached.

  2. Pause: The Snak™ is paused until the participant continues the Snak™, i.e. by pressing a button.

  3. Loop: The Snak™ will jump back to the beginning of the Cue™ and keep doing so until the participant continues the Snak™, i.e. by pressing a button.

Note: The default setting for End Behavior is "Continue," facilitating a fluid journey through the Snak™ without manual intervention at the end of each Cue™.

Feedback

Note: This section only applies to question-type Cues™ such as Multiple Choice, Yes or No, Rating, and Ranking.

By default, the feedback for Cues™ is disabled. However, should you wish to engage participants with immediate feedback upon their response, this feature can be activated.

To enable feedback, simply toggle the feature on. You can then personalize the feedback for each answer by clicking on the "Edit Feedback" button. Once a participant selects an answer, the configured feedback will be promptly displayed, enhancing the interactive experience.

Additionally, the default feedback title "Your results" is fully customizable via the canvas, allowing you to tailor the messaging to better fit the context of your Cue™.

This flexibility ensures that you can provide targeted, meaningful feedback that enriches participant engagement and learning.

Action

Note: This function only applies to items added to the Cue™ canvas (see above Add item to Cue™ section).

Each action assigned to an object on the canvas (such as menu items, labels, buttons, etc.) triggers a distinct function, enhancing interactivity within the Snak™.

5 specific actions are available for configuration:

  1. None: Selecting this option means no further action occurs when the participant interacts with the item. Ideal for static elements like labels displaying disclaimers or instructions, it ensures these remain visible without necessitating participant action throughout the Cue™.

  2. Auto: By default, this is set to "Continue", automating the progression through the Snak™ without requiring explicit participant input.

  3. Continue: This action facilitates the smooth flow of the Snak™, automatically moving the participant to the subsequent Cue™ in the timeline without specifying further details.

  4. Jump: Enables a direct transition to another segment within the Snak™ immediately after the participant selects the item. This feature allows for non-linear navigation, offering a flexible pathway through various Cues™ or media elements.

  5. Open URL: Directs the participant to an external website upon selection. To preserve the Snak™ session, the link opens in a new browser tab by default.

Note: To define an action for a specific item (such as a Label, Button, or Menu Item), it must first be selected on the canvas. This step is crucial for tailoring the interactive experience within the Snak™ according to the desired participant engagement.

Overlay

An overlay acts as a filter that can be applied to a particular Cue™ or media. It can be set for a single instance, targeted at a specific type of Cue™ (Apply to X Cues™), or applied universally to all Cues™ (Apply to All Cues™) by choosing the relevant option.

Back to Menu Button

Activating this option will insert a "Back To Menu" button at the top-left corner of the canvas. The button is movable and editable. Selecting this button enables participants to seamlessly return to the prior main menu within the timeline.
