Why was my Gift Card trade declined?

Common reasons a Gift Card trade is declined and what you can do next.

When a Gift Card trade is declined, we tell you the reason. You can see it in your notification and in the trade details in your transaction history. Please read it before you submit again.

Common reasons and what to do

  1. The card has already been used or has no balance. We cannot accept a card that has been redeemed. If you did not use it, contact the store or person you bought it from.

  2. The card was not activated when it was bought. Check with the seller that the card was activated, then submit again.

  3. The wrong category or value was selected. Choose the category and value that match your card exactly, then submit again.

  4. The image is unclear, cropped or too dark. Upload a clear photo that shows the full card and code, then submit again.

  5. The code entered does not match the card in the photo. Check the code carefully, then submit again.

  6. Card details or image were missing. Add everything requested, then submit again.

  7. The card is not supported. Supported Gift Cards are shown in the app. We cannot accept cards that are not listed.

  8. The card could not be verified as genuine. We cannot accept cards that fail our checks.

Please note: Always check your card's balance and expiry date before you trade. Some cards expire or lose value if they are not used.
