Syncing Changes Across Activities

When you edit an activity in Snorkl, you can choose whether those changes stay in that version or are applied to all versions of the activity using Sync Now.

How Snorkl Activity Templates Work

When you create an activity, Snorkl saves a reusable template in My Library.

When you assign an activity to a class, Snorkl creates a separate copy for that class.

This means:

  • Changes made to the template in My Library won't automatically update assigned copies.

  • You can customize activities for different classes without affecting other versions.

🔄 How to Sync Activity Changes

You can sync changes from either your My Library template or an activity already assigned to a class.

  1. Open the activity you want to sync and select the Edit tab.

  2. Click Sync Now in the yellow banner at the top of the page when there are unsynced changes.

  3. Review the versions that will be updated, then click Overwrite All to apply the settings and whiteboard from the activity you're currently viewing to all other versions.

Your changes will now be reflected across all versions of that activity.

💡 A Few Things to Know About Syncing

  • Syncing is optional. You can make changes to an activity without updating other versions.

  • You can sync from any version. Whether you're viewing the template in My Library or an assigned activity, you can use Sync Now to update all other versions.

  • The Sync Now banner appears whenever versions are out of sync. Even if you made changes in another class or in My Library, you'll still see the banner when viewing a different version.

📌 Important: Sync Now does not automatically use the most recently edited version of an activity. It uses whichever version you're currently viewing, whether that's in My Library or an assigned class. Before clicking Overwrite All, make sure you're viewing the version with the changes you want to keep, as it will overwrite all other versions of that activity.

✅ Takeaway: Use Sync Now when you want the settings and whiteboard from one activity to match across your My Library template and all assigned copies. Otherwise, leave the versions unsynced to keep them customized for different classes.
