Week 1: Getting Visible & Engaging
Goal: Introduce yourself, engage authentically, and start connecting with other members.
Day 1: Post a short update about your recovery or share a small win. Keep it authentic and simple.
Day 2: Comment supportively on 1–2 posts from others. Be specific rather than generic (“Great work!” → “I love how you stayed sober despite that stressful day”).
Day 3: Browse your feed and “like” posts that resonate with you.
Day 4: Share a reflection, tip, or insight about your recovery journey in a post.
Day 5: Comment on posts that inspire you. Add encouragement or a personal perspective.
Day 6: Send a friendly DM to someone whose post resonated with you. Keep it positive and short.
Day 7: Review your week. Note who you connected with and which interactions felt meaningful.
Week 2: Deepening Connections & Accountability
Goal: Build rapport, start accountability relationships, and maintain consistency.
Day 8: Comment thoughtfully on at least 2 posts in your feed. Share personal experiences or encouragement.
Day 9: Reach out via DM to a second person. Reference something from their post that you relate to.
Day 10: Check in with someone you DM’d earlier. Even a short message like: “How’s your week going?” counts.
Day 11: Post a recovery reflection or a question that invites responses from the community.
Day 12: Comment on new posts from people you’ve already interacted with—keep building rapport.
Day 13: Follow up with an accountability buddy or someone you’ve been chatting with. Share a small win or insight.
Day 14: Review your progress: note friendships forming, new connections, and how consistent engagement felt. Plan your next steps for ongoing interaction.
Tips for Success
Consistency over volume: One meaningful connection is more valuable than dozens of shallow interactions.
Be genuine: Honesty and authenticity attract reciprocal engagement.
Track interactions: Keep a simple note of posts, comments, and DMs to maintain follow-ups.
Celebrate small wins: Even a single supportive comment or DM is progress.
Remember: Building friendships takes time, patience, and authenticity. Engaging consistently with the Sober Sidekick community can make your recovery journey feel less lonely and more supported.
